In what gears will your bike pull wheelies?

Alright I need to know in what gears you bike pulls wheelies with and without clutch
also say your setup

The thing is, I heard from NorDt that when he had 125cc with gianelli exhaust he would do wheelies in 1st and 2nd without clutch and in 3rd with clutch

Now I gutted my pipe and bought a dep silencer but I can only pull in 1st gear without clutch, 2nd with clutch
and 3rd with clutch if I pull really hard, and I can maybe get a 80mph top speed... Gonna try adjust the powervalve
to open a bit earlier and get a new jet and see if it gets any better , but if it doesn't I'm gonna sell my dep silencer
and std exhaust and buy a full gianelli exhaust system

My DT was the same as yours, would power up in 1st and clutch in 2nd and 3rd with a little force, the DRZ was the same, it's all to do with how its geared i guess!

once carried two bags of cement from the diy store on the back of the bike .. the front wheel felt like it was flying and had to rely on leaning to steer lol ...

A fully gutted standard spanny is better than a DEP.

The DEP is suppose to give you more midrange. It also depends how you've set your bike up. You set the bike up to be all mid range. TBF the RE doesn't rev very high anyway. My struggles to rev higher than 9k revs.

My gutted standard struggles to get higher than ~9k too...

I dont know if I want to get a gianelli either, NorDT is the only one here with gianelli, and it might be different from bike to bike aswell so I'm just afraid I wont get more power :/

Sucks that everyone is like "DEP IS THE BEST , DEP FTW" when gianelli seems to be better... Maybe I should go ask on the german DT forum where everyone has Gianelli xD

But do you think dep would have any stronger rpm kick than the original?

I loved it, the build quality was amazing in it, plus the expansion pipe had a sort of copper tinge to it!

On the german forum there was a guy who had tried gianelli, but he said athena was better... Do you think a DEP silencer would fit the athena xpanny??

1st at 6k with a pinned power valve and if the front comes down hard and I change gear quick enough it bounces back up in 2nd. I can wheelie for a good few metres in second without meaning to lol.

Mate the DEP is suppose to be more mid range power. Ideal for wheeling.

Yours is the RE Right? Same as mine. The CDI is restricted to fook! Try opening the PV and disconnecting it. Then see what it's like. Guaranteed it's rapid then matey :D

pinning the pv does not make it faster all it does is make it **** pulling away then it kicks in and that kick makes it lift and feel powerful but it isent its slower

think I'll be getting the athena exhaust too, hopefully get a little bit more power, and better sound too :D

I could test out pinning the powervalve too, never tried that :P

Toy we're talking about an RE model here. The powervalve retards after like 9k rpm. Retards, shuts. Causing an instant loss of power and the inability to climb any more revs. So by pinning the powervalve open and shutting the servo off you stop it from closing and thus making more use of the higher RPM power range.

You'll lose bottom end. But to be fair once you're over 6K you'll change gear and still be in the powerband.

But the RE is just terrible with the PV. You need a pre RE CDI if you want to use anything higher than 10K revs. That or pinning the PV.

Is it fśck! The PV retards. You can feel it. When the PV is disconnected and opened fully it will climb much higher in the rev range.

Plus I have got an RPM counter on mine and have checked.

Plus there's the green and black wire you're suppose to earth to 'derestricted' the PV. Not that I noticed any difference. But I'm starting to wonder whether i've done that wrong.
