basicly i took my exhaust off and stuffed a rag over the outlet on engine while it was being repared started her up which just front pipe on and chucks out loads of white smoke...could it be condensation in engine where its sat over the weekend with no exhaust or is it running to rich due to not have a back box on it atm and needs a new gasket too... what do people think ?
Well I did have choke on and the exhaust wasn't up tightest it could be I'm going to get new copper gasket and get her all tightend and seal and let her run up to temp with the new back box it has a rebuild 1k ago should be sweet was quite dense I didn't run it long tho as didn't have exhaust on hope it ain't gasket she hasn't been ragged or even gone slightly over temp hopeing its just mixture off fuel n oil built up were she has sat fora week.:(
Mine smokes quite alot aswell when I have the choke on and rev, when it's cold The top end gasket would normally not break just like that, but did the smoke smell like 2stroke or more sweet?
After a full rebuild it will smoke a bit because hopefullt the piston and certain parts were oiled well with 2 stroke oil when it was put back together. 2 strokes do smoke alot. often a slight blue tint to the smoke. get it all back together and run it and see, as the engine warms up it will calm down. If you ever seen a 2 stroke being given a blast, especially after not being run hard for a while you'll see huge plumes of white smoke as it clears the exhausts out. Lovely smell!
