So the missus brought me a new front light to stop me moaning about the bike being off the road etc. She went and got me the Polisport MMX one and I've gotta say the colour match in the blue is spot on. Read some reviews and it seems to be good value for money, although some reviews state that the actually output of the light could be better but coming from 2 x 20watt ****ty lights to this will be a blessing.

Now, I need a wiring diagram or something of that sort to work out how to wire it up, It has a sidelight too but I'm not sure how to connect that up. Coming from the bike original is the 4 wires, which are connected up into 3. :S Anyway, I need to wire up the headlight but there were no destructions with the light. The main bulb has 3 spade connectors on it, so would coincide with the 3 wires coming from the bike. But what about the sidelight?

The headlight wires as they are atm, connected to the sheathed wire in white on the left of the bike.

That shouldn't be hard at all to figure out.

Have you still got the three pin plug for the headlamp or has that been ripped off?

That will need chopping for it to fit I imagine since it won't be universal. Best thing to do is to leave some wire on the plug incase you fancy going standard in the future you can always solder/crimp it back on.

The side light is the one with the little bulb attacched. If that's gone then it'll just be a female plug on its own. Shouldn't be too hard to find.

The three wires connected to the existing headlight wires, (the white ones) are all thats left of the wiring for the bikes headlight. They ripped it all off. I just need to know what the 3 wires coming from the bike do, like which to which connector on the headlight

The Green one goes to the dimmer switch.

Yellow one goes to the dash to tell you you're on high beam

and the last one is earthed near the regulator

Yeah That's alright.

The Haynes is for DTR & DTX but I don't think there's much change to the wiring. it's just different clocks. But there's only one wiring diagram so it must be true for both.
