So ive decided to finally upgrade from my sony w395 to the 4S, but should i wait a while??

Also if Siri is the reason why you want the iPhone 4S the I'd like to tell you that some russian has ported Siri to the iPhone 4. So why pay more for the same thing.

ay, cheers for your advice calum :), everyone say the same or do you some of you think its not gonna go down in price hardly/at all when the 5 comes out??

Yeah I've seen it on 3gs's before, not getting it for siri tho, not worth using IMO, guess it could be good in the future if it gets better, but its quicker to not use siri and do it manually majority of the time :)

thought it might be best, but yeah should have said, want to buy the phone outright and then go pay as you go with giff-gaff, 250 mins, unlimited texts and internet for a 10er a month, thats why im wondering if the 4s will come down in price when the 5 comes out :)

Ay cheers Wozz, from that im gonna wait and see, not looking to get the 5, not really worth it IMO unless it actually worth paying bit more for it, cant be that better tho, and anythings better than my w395 ay, so ill stick to the 4s i think ;)

But yeah hopefully apple themselves reduce it as that's where im planning to buy it from new, spending that much money don't really fancy buying one second hand off ebay, but like you say its worth waiting and having a look :)

And Sean, no way am i getting a poxy android ;)

I'd say if you're prepared to pay the money for a 4S now then I'd save and buy the 5 when it comes out. For the extra money you're future proofing yourself as well as getting the latest and greatest stuff.

I think from what i've heard, it'll be worth it

theres no point getting the 4s if your buying one new, just get the 5 if your going to get one

personally id go with the samsung s3, ive got the s2 and its waaay better than the 4s haha

as the poxy government has restricted me to 24hrs a week not really got the money now to pay for a brand spanking new iphone 5 a when that comes out cus i guess that would set me back about £600+, but i dont mind going up to about 500 say so thats why i decided to go to the 4s :)

but ok you android fans, explain why i should get android over apple if you like, you never know you may twist my arm as ive never looked into getting one before ;) ??

especially getting the iphone for the music side and jailbreaking so can you beat/meet those beasty 'features' with an android?? If so what models and ill look into them :)

Yes future proofing. 4G is about to be unveiled soon. If you buy the iPhone 4S you won't have the hardware to take full advatage of this new tech. Something that is missing from the 4S

SO yes. FUTURE PROOFING. Since if they realese the iPhone 5 with 4G support then you'll benefit from the faster data download.

I can't stand using apple things, it just feels like they only let you do certain things, anything android just feels like a mini computer and less restrictive if that makes sense lol. And pretty sure the samsung is better than the iphone performance wise anyway?

Definityl wait for the iphone 5 to come out before you buy an iphone. I've currently got the 4S and unless the 5 is bloody spectacular then I'll be sticking with the 4s. It's an amazing bit of kit and does everything I need it to do, and more.

4S is the most pointless device ever, hardly even better than the 4 tbh unless you can get one for the same price - was laughing when I saw literally hundreds of people queuing up to get them on release at the Arndale

I got the 4S when it came out on a three contract. I think it all depends on what you are after. The price at the time between the 4 and 4S was minimal. The 4S has the dual core chip and so is alot faster. It also shoots in 1080p which was one of the major things for me, being a video editor and film maker. Siri, don't even use myself. It was a bit of a half attempt considering the differences between it and the 4 are few but the device itself isnt pointless.

The camera was the only thing that I could see was an advantage but a whole new phone just for that, suppose if you are upgrading anyway it may be worth the few quid more but the whole press release hype ... just seemed like a huge let down

Not sure on the processor, my 4 instantly loads anything and plays even the most challenging games with maximum fps so I don't see the huge benefit but if you like it then that's all that matters

Siri can just be ported onto 4 anyway it makes me laugh how many people go on about the 4S because is so awesome with siri biggrin - it's only software!

Siri is rubbish. It might be useful if it worked for the UK but it's only set for the US so wont find UK businesses etc. I rarely use it. It looks good in the ads but then thats what apple is all about. Their ads make it look very useful but to the average person its no more use than a chocolate fire guard. If Siri is part of your reasoning for getting an iphone, forget it. But there are plenty of other reasons. I wouldnt be without one.
