Hmm well I've been asked to go play cricket in Japan for a year...odd I know, and I was like sure! But now, I've been offered a brewery to buy on an earn out scheme...Its all running etc, owners want to travel/retire...so they want to sell it. It runs at a v good profit, has great reputation and it's like all done...not like it's a start up - been running 3 years so it's not flat pack...it's running straight out the box! Customers, systems, equipment, procedures, branding etc is all done. And done well...

So what do I do??! Travel to Japan and basically píss about for a year, maybe something great will come of it. Or take the business on and start working towards that? But I'll be commited then...no year out traveling or playing cricket...work, mortgage and marriage probs.

I'm just all over the shop. If I go Japan I might miss out on a quarter million pound a year business, and if I take the business I might never get to live abroad.

Oh misses of like 4-5 years won't come to Japan so that will probs be end of that if I go...

Money isn't everything. But if you put it like that. If you reckon you can get it so it's self sufficient then go for it. You'll be to busy enjoying yourself with the business to worry about Japan. Once that's all done you can take a few weeks out to enjoy Japans sights when you vist, with the missus, on holiday

Theres them that would say if you can't make a decision then don't go into business, business is a gamble nowadays, needing a fair few on the spot decisions, nah have a holiday, enjoy yourself while your young, dont end up regretting not doing stuff when your older, the business chance will come along again, you'll be older and wiser still in a couple of years. I had a catering company in Torquay, 2 restaurant franchises and a pub, took the decision to finish due the foot and mouth down here, paying people to stand around doing sod all, due to the lack of tourists. Made the right decision too. and will again do it in another few years.
