Getting the second engine ready for a re bore but have a single stud i cannot shift!, tried two nuts together on the stud with a good dose of wd40 (my normal method) and they are actually starting to strip it!. Maybe PJME would be the best bet here unless there is another secret trick i don't know about to remove a stuborn one?
With the engine being made of alloy it should only be heated to as low a temp as pos (can''t remember how hot, sorry), and as it doesn't glow red like steel its easy to over do it. Cooked alloy is not as strong and can become brittle.
I can't remember where i heard this, so please feel free to correct me if im wrong..
put the barrell in the oven aslong as the barels to hot to hold it will be hot enuf, with it going in the oven it all heats up and expands the same and not just in 1 spot like blow tortch
i put all me cases in oven 250 full power for ten mins or untill hot enuf
