Im planning on doing this friday, but it will be on a 2 stroke Derbi Senda 80cc thats seen a lot of work to get to where it is now. Swapping it for the Derbi GPR I own. I reckon I'll make it and if not, I have breakdown.

Google maps reckons 23 quids worth of fuel. Gonna take up all the A and B roads next to the between the M40 and M1.. through Oxford, Rugby, Leamington Spa etc. If I die. then I love you all. x Ps I'm drunk.

Its had a rebuild 200 miles ago according to this fella. I'm going to get it Monday. So Tuesday I'll no doubt have a look over it to check anything that might fail on me on the way.. Then I'm gonna go for a blast to see if it has any problems under load etc. Sounds like a good trip along that road though. Matey reckons it'll hit almost 80 with all the stuff done to it so 60 should be a breeze. Cheers nev :)

Also. The DTs engine is back all rebuilt ;) Pics to come soonish

Another thing you might benefit from is either AA, RAC, or Green Flag breakdown cover, just to cover your arse on a trip like that, I think you mentioned that you were back living at home, maybe you can go on your parents breakdown cover, I did it for my lad, or some bank accounts do like a 'Gold Account' at around £13 a month, I know Nat West does this, and some of the benefits with that give you breakdown cover for free, I'd keep away from Green Flag mind, as only this week my youngest daughters Corsa broke down, a few miles from home, she called out Green Flag bloke, who came and told her some ignition wire was fooked, tried to start it with some easy start, then told her there wasn't owt more he could do, so left her where she was, she rang me to tell me this, so I told her to get another bloke out as this didn't sound right, another bloke went out to try and sort it, only to tell her it was her starter motor, but was able to bang it on a low loader to get her car home, got it home, Green Flag bloke was there while daughter tried to start the car, to me it seemed like it was just the battery being flat, and told the Green Flag it was the battery, but he was adamant it was the starter motor, anyroad, took the battery off, topped it up wityh distilled water, and banged it on charge, 3 hours later, battery charged up, banged it back on her car, started up straight away, just as I knew it would, it just cheeses me off that the mechanic could have just jump started her car the first time, instead of leaving her in the middle of nowhere, so like I say leave Green Flag well alone as they seem to know sod all.

Who would swap a Tuned Derbi GPR for a standard one.

For what they are those bikes are alright. For a 50cc. I'll tell you one thing though. FÚCK THAT! I had an Aprilia RS50 07 which is pretty much exactly the same as those Derbi's and MAN THEY'RE HARD!

Put loads of strain on your wrists. You back is going to ache. And the seats are darn hard. The Aprilia was even worse. Where your knees rested on the fairing I bruised them over many many many potholes.

He really wanted the gpr but couldnt afford it, it has only 3900 miles on the clock so hardly even ran in. His Derbi Senda only has an 80 kit I believe so not much done above that. Itll be a laugh anyway lol

Sorry. Just being special. I didn't read that properly.

Yeah I'd watch it mind. It's so easy to disconnect the speed cable. (I should know) It's a real cheap thing to do but believe it or not I NEVER took my Aprilia RS50 past 8K RPM unless I was clearing out the pipes. No word of a lie. I never EVER ragged my RS. Wish I did now mind you but besides the point.

Just don't get ripped off. Those GPR's are worth a bit more than the Senders due to their fairings and stoof!

What's the matter with your DT?

It got stolen and came back in a **** state with bits missing, engine was fooked so it's off being rebuilt at the moment. Ordered a 0.5 oversize piston only for it to be wrong cos the bore was already at 0.5, so the guy is going to bore it to +1 and I'm waiting for a replacement piston. He's done all the top end work, just needs the piston to finish it. Cant wait, been ages since I rode. It's being sumo'd as we speak too, just updated my build thread.

Aye, it's worth more but the main bearings have gone so I've brought some and he's fitting them himself so if he breaks it he'll have a ****ed gpr. Lol.

Lol.

I'm not a fan of boring the cylinder on the DT's

You'll have to modify the PV. Which personally I don't like the idea of. If you don't then when the engine heats up you could snag the rings on the PV fúcking up the whole engine.

Personally I'd have the bore replated back to the factory. Have the ports honed as well.

I thought you could bore it out to plus 2 before having to mess with the pv, and in fairness modding the power valve is a 5 minute job if done properly surely?

Ah that's cool, I'm not fussed with having to mod it if so.

Also, the green flag thing, I've heard their **** so I've steered clear of them before. I have breakdown with my Lloyds account and I'm a member of the AA anyway.

If I use my bank account breakdown cover. It's only free for 15miles from my address then it's £3 a mile or something to get recovered.
