I don't think they will mate. Not without custom wheel spacers.
ahh thats not a problem, the ones I have the spindles are tiny in comparison to the Dt ones, So would have to either machine out the middle of the hub if thats even possible, or ditch them for some that have the same sized spindles but only need brackets and spacers made
from looking at a sm wr at college the wheels look identical to my sm rims from a dtx but the rims are not excell cant remember what they are mind and the front calliper on them looks like my brembo but is not a brembo.
the spindle should fit so as said just a bracket but your standard calliper will not fit the disk properly and wear strange so try and get a calliper from it as well and use that with a bracket will make for better braking aswell =]
off of an 08 Wr125. Will be finding a caliper too as I quite like the thought of decent brakes up front. haha! :) in fairness I have a back supermoto wheel that will fit, so Just need a front but thought it best to get a pair :)
ok well that rear does not look like the one i sore =/ looks strange haveing a cushty drive id be tempted to swap out that rear hub for a normally dt one and the front hub looks identical as the dtx one as i said =]
sod the cush drive lol just makes it a paint to swap wheels out messing with all that crap XD
and just remembered another problem i had the calliper bracket on the standard calliper would hit the disk bolt you can just make out its touching in this photo
rin fairness, my rear is only an inch bigger so I'd be tempted to just find a suitable supermoto tyre for the standard rear DT wheel and then just use the W supermoto front. Nice and quick way of getting sumoed. Alternatively, as I now have 2 DTs. Could just use the one im rebuilding to find a way of fitting the rear etc without having to bring the bike off the road. Saves pissing about with making the bracket for the front too
If it's a job worth doing it's worth doing right in my opinion.
Those excel rims are expensive and look the dogs bollox. So it's worth while spending your time making brackets to utilise the bigger discs. Hell if you're going bespoke might as well buy new front caliper to really slow things down.
Yeah, I've seen a few guys on here toy with different calipers. Not sure what I could use though? I guess if I make a bracket then I can make any caliper within reason to fit?
Yeah, I like a challenge too! I got really ****ed off earlier when hooning along and my right hand side hanguard ****ing fell off. Fuming! So now I want to find a lever I can use with a seperate master cylinder cos this one gets in the way of the gaurd and makes it loose :( Ducati Brembo anyone ;)
