Depends what kind of area you live in, if bike theft is a big thing where you live, How secure the dt will be overnight, shed, garage, road, chains alarm etc.

If its that bad i would advise, either upgrading security, maybe storing it in a friends garage or pay a neighbor or someone for you to store somewhere more secure, Or yeah you could give in, sell it, give up with bikes all together, or buy a bike which there find hard to turn into a good field bike, so that your less likely for your bike to get stolen as then they would have to break it for parts :)

Really you shouldn't be worrying then mate like that, where I live a couple of bikes are robbed nearly each week from our town, I've always been paranoid though, it takes me 25 minutes to lock my bike up, motion sensor alarms, ground anchor..... and so many different chains an locks, I'm always checking it through the night haha

So yeah it's good to be paranoid but keep it then if that's the case, get as much security as you can for it, one being a cyclone alarm if you can get one, disc locks etc, try locking it to something, build a shed for it etc, you seeing where I'm coming from, if you want it bad do as much as you can to keep it yours :)

yeah its pretty loud, but i wouldn't personally just rely on any alarm through the night. Im guessing you've got the dtr, rather than the RE/x??

as for living on the main road, wouldn't that detract thieves from stealing it as there more likely to be seen if there gonna try. Cant you go through an ally way to get to your property so that you could leave it in your back garden or something??

Well if you get a cyclone, you may be able to get the cyclone fully working so that you can have the immobilizer feature (another thing for security then), and even the remote start working ;) If you decide to go through with it, PM me and ill send you some instructions in how to do it, you may not be able to get them working from these instructions as mine is a 2007 RE (may be a different wiring loom to the 04) but i got the information off someone else on the forum and he has a DTX 54 plate i think so should be the same. Oh yeah if you do, thats the cyclone v2, comes in an orange box, can get it off ebay or off there website

Cyclone alarm all the way mate. I've hidden mine inside the panels beneath heat reflecting paper. And they are shot loud and are a very nice bit of kit.

I thought it was going to be a novelty but I was very surprised.
