Cheers, I decided to make a topic for my WR 426, this might turn into a small project during the winter, I might turn it into a supermotard, But after driving it enduro style for the last days i found out i ****ing love brapping trough the swamps and ****, I can go everywhere i like :D.
But maybe it will turn into a supermoto. The engine seems fine so i dont think there will be any changes done to it. Other than that it might need adjustements done to the ignition timing, If i stand in free, And give some throttle and release it and give some more throttle and do this a coupple of times, Sometimes it goes bang and flames come out of the exhaust, I dont know if this is regular for 4 strokes. But also if i have low rpm it seems to die out if i release the throttle and then give alot of throttle. It might just be that it needs more rpm to function properly.
My dad had this idea that it might be the "Accelerator pump " or something like that that isnt working, Anyone who has a 450cc 4 stroke proboably knows what that is, Cause i dont know enough about it to try to explain what it is lol. But it is supposed to put a shot of fuel into the engine when you give throttle, To increase throttle response. But if this isnt working, That might be what is causing it to die when i try to do full throttle on low rpms.
Sounds like you've got a good setup to there, if you can make use of an enduro bike by all means stay with it
Just round here if you tried anything like that you either get chased by the land owner or the police within five minutes so supermoto is the funnest way
Well, The bike isnt road legal, So theres a bigger chance i would get the police after me if i went onroads supermoto. And its way easier t escape from the cops with an enduro bike, You can go off road alot better where the cars cant follow.
To answer your question about the flames that'll just be the unburnt fuel in the exhaust igniting, friend of mine has a husky 610 supermoto an his does the same : )

Hmm, i tought it happened because unburnt fuel made it way trough the exhaust valve and into the exhaust, and then the heated exhaust was hot enough to ignite the fuel
Yeah that's what it is, I don't know why it can do it cold tho! although he had just come in from riding quite a bit and he had been sat for about 20 minutes so I wouldn't actually say cold

Ahh well, who cares. It looks kinda awesome when flames are spitting out of the exhaust :D, But at first i tought it was something wrong with the ignition timing lol.
Btw, ive notcied there is a Yamaha YZF426 too. Is this the exact same engine as the WR 426. And the YZF a full true blood Dirt bike, while the WR is a Enduro with a a headlight and rear brake light ?.
Or is there any engine differences ? I heard on another forum that all engine parts was interchangeable between them, But it didnt say if they where the same.
Someone also said they had done some mods to their WR 426, And that was a YZ Camshaft or something, Thats why im thinking maybe he put on a YZF 426 camshaft and that the YZF is a bit faster than the WR ? Or maybe he put on a camshaft from a YZF 450...
Yeah the yzf426's are good bikes!! can have them sat on the back tyre all day!! don't see the point in them tho for an mx bike! may as well go for a 450! but yeah can't see why you couldn't the gear ratio would probs be different due to mx is all about acceleration and not top end!

I might have found the problem, Something was wrong with the part on the carburettor that the book of all knowing calls "Air cut " gonna see tomorrow if the problem is gone, If not im going to check the accelerator pump.
So its not normal that it spits flames every now and then ? It doesent happend in normal riding , just when i have it in neuteral and revving the engine.
Ordered myself a Boysen Acceleration pump quickshot 3 yesterday, Its supposed to fix my problem with the bike stalling.
It has an easier adjustement of the amount of fuel pumped into the carb when i give it a bit of throttle. Also i ordered new jets, And put the carb in Diesel. It was all green inside and the jets was ugh. It was a mess.
So heres the bike :) Just put the Quickshot 3 on and it started right away ! :D im so happy. The throttle response seemed awesome too, Tough i didnt buy the quickshot for the throttle response increase so i didnt give it much mind. Im taking it for a ride tomorrow to see if the bog when i try to wheelie has dissapeard, Hope it will with some small adjustments atleast :D
So the quickshot 3 didnt completely fix the problem automaticly, I took a ride and i think it just needs some more adjusments, Both to the accelerator pump timing and the quickshot itself..
Maybe it even needs some rejetting idk. And now when i did this ride. I think the valves made more noise then they should... I hope i dont have to do anything about them because thats gonna be a pain in the ass since i never done it before, Sometime gotta be the first right ?. Ill read my way on how to do it in the manual i guess.
