lol look at this write up about the wr..."After the final Yamaha DT125X and DT125R came off the production line in 2007, Yamahas engineers were given a clear mission to fill-in this void and create a model that not only supersedes the legendary DT125X and DT125R, but improves on it in every aspect possible. In addition to this demanding target they set another challenge, to make the new model more affordable to young riders and have the ultimately high quality levels used in Yamaha production on another European developed and produced model."

true fact about the dt being legendary but wen they say the wr is improved in every aspect possible....

Not really ridden a 4 stroke 125 apart from the CBT like that counts lol. But I imagine the 4 stroke is crap. All garden machinary is converting to 4 stroke because of emissions noice and vibration, but the simply have half the power of the original stuff. I was quite surprised to see a 2011 Caviga Mito with a 2 stroke, I assumed they had been band for production by the EU by now.

Last I heard it was Athena making direct injection and the results are real tasty! Better performance with lower emissions. Almost an impossible feat for many ventures Also I heard that its a simple transition Gould you want your old carburettor bike to run direct injection. But once again I haven't heard the latest from athena. Always use this w site on my iPhone so don't get a chance to read up on much.

I think aprilia are just selling off old stock.

It's an end of an era lads. Apart from competition 2 strokes are being wiped out. The only way for two strokes to come back into production is if they can implement direct injection instead of carb. Else it's dead.

Aprilia managed direct injection but I'd have to read up on how it ended.

Buy two smokes for a tasty investment! Far more secure and profitable than giving it to the wànky bankers. I did hear ktm also made an eu worthy 2 smoker?
