Should have a cable coming out of it with a cap securing it in going to the rev counter if it's pre 2004

If it's an RE/X I gues sit should just have a cap on it

Thanks harry its a 93 bike it was stolen but i got it back and now its taxed and moted again has no clocks as it was turned into a field bike would this be a problem or should i just leave it thanks?

What is the yellow stuff, is it hard / liquid? Very difficult to tell

It would be bad yes as unless I'm corrected it means water / crap can get into the casing causing all kinds of havoc would no doubt wreck the engine after a while

It needs covering up with something if you don't want the rev counter to work

Unless that is their attempt at using some sort of sealant to fill the hole, I would still remove it and make sure it's a proper job though

Not sure was thinking gearbox oil? Yeah its liquid strange only just noticed it today I'll see if i can get the cap for it cheers buddy

Yeah.

That yellow stuff aint good.

Looks like its water mixing with the gearbox oil

Which indicates water from the housing going into the gearbox. It's the waterpump seal

Yeah your right the water pump seal went a while back now which was replaced and new gearbox oil ill flush it with new oil and see if it makes it better cheers

Can't work out why it is at the top though but it does look like water mixing

You need to strip the casing off and see what's happening, some of the components may have been damaged too
