To be honest nev I'm just a knob. I took what you said to the heart. But what you said is true. You didn't say the re's are ****. Then I'd have a reason to be miffed. You said that the dtr's are better. And in everyway they are so I agree with that statement mate. The dtrs are better.
Obviously I'm not crying about it. I don't really care to be fair. I'm just young and need to reflect on things I say sometimes.
nooo nooo noo Calum, I'd never say the RE's are poo, just that put up against a DTR they come a close second. I'm looking to get a Hyabusa within the next couple of years, I'll go for an early one of those too, as again the newer ones were restricted over the earlier ones, and aren't on a par whatsoever performance wise.
i think the re only come in at a close 2nd is coz of all the bull**** electrical restrictions and emmisions crap ( re circ pipe and valve ) also little things like i foound on the newr ones R's aswell i think? that they didnt put grease nipples on the swinger pivot barings and rear shock knuckle, where as my 89" has them. really good if ur using it offroad to keep flushing it all thru with fresh grease and push out any **** that gets in there, y the **** did yamaha stop doing that on the newer models???! plus it makes stripping it down so much easier as none of mine was the slightest bit seized when i took it apart this time round. all my bushes and barings wer like brand new still! and iv put it thru alot of ****, balls deep in mud and water ect
rant over lol but i love all dt's weather it be dtr re x and oldskool mx and lc models : )
Mine ;) no everyone's are decent on here, do prefer the dtrs though, probably one day ill buy up another cheap dtr frame and convert my RE into the R but I'd always keep my REG if I was to do that, GU57 *** ;)
Yeah defiantly bradders with you working on it as well ;)
Cheers Nev, yeah have put so much money and time into it considering i havnt got much experience with bikes as of yet and Still only working part time and full time student, but its getting there
Once it's back from bradders, everything will be pretty much would of have been rebuilt, rims included, powdercoated etc, new bits on it.... It will look even better, gonna take me a fair few years to be able to do the stuff some of you do with your bikes though
Must point out I look to keep and look after the DT forever, I love it too much lol, forum tops it off as well, nice little community ;)
Ill probably look into getting a bigger bike on top though once I complete the two years of being restricted, will always stay with enduros/supermotos though
