gearbox removal

Hi - I'm stripping out a right hand engine casing I bought on fleabay - seller stated it had done only 500 miles, so I was thinking the gearbox that was still attached would probably be a better candidate for my engine rebuild.

Now, I've watched the engine strip down youtube video many many times but when I try to remove the selector drum (is that the right word?) I am stuggling. I have managed to get the uppermost selector prong out of the channel but teh lower selector prong is stopping me from pulling the selector drum out of the casing.

What am I missing - it looks so easy in the youtube vid??????

Help as always is much appreciated, Tom

Still stuck on this - does the circlip have to come off the selector arm dowel before the selector drum can come out?

I take it you'll need a manual mate. PM NEV. I think he has a PDF mate.

I took my drum out today. You have remembered that it slides out the cut out bits. It can only come out one way.

Also get a punch and tap the rod out. Sure you will get it out.
