My dtr 125  (1999) cut out as if it lost spark. My mate came down to rescue me with his van he fiddled with the ht lead and it seemed to run for a short time, Then started to die abit again! any of you guys got any ideas what it could be before it goes to the mechanics! confuse

Ignition coil

HT lead

CDI

Fault to earth. Would probably blow a fuse but make sure that no water is getting yo any live!

Problem with electrics is that i can be anything. Best to get yourself a multi meter and do a continuity test on these parts. Look for exposed wiring!

Was it raining at the time your bike cut out? Or was there a lot if water about. Thats always a good indication.

Was a bit of snow at the time! but a couple of weeks ago i had to tow a mate for about 5 mile cos his ktm broke down in the middle of nowhere and it was pitch black! Then about a week later wouldn't start so I changed the plug it was abit dirty! Then it did this the other day could be the plug again?
