how to measure piston ring end gap on a +1mm overbore?

as above how do i go about measuring the end gap on my piston rings on a 1 mm overbore? the haynes specifications state 00.35mm -00.45 but this will be different on an oversize piston surely

Use a feeler gauge.

I wouldn't have thought so. Make sure there is no burrs on the rings!

cheers cal i know how to measure it but will it be different because ive gone up a size and in the haynes thats for a standard bore?

You've bored it by a minimal amount. The tolerances would probably be within machining limits anyway.

dunt matter if the bores 5 mm bigger the ring end gap needs to be as specified in the manual mate

u get bigger rings for bigger bore when u go up size so u just treat the bore as its std and use the specified ring gap
