Alright Boys .... blankstare

been away a while confuse ... V Strom 1000, that I always had .... 

Flogged it & bought Tiger 800 ... Then a 650 Versys... 

But the DT's getting dug out for this year.  

Just put new back tyre on (bald bleh) .. & thought I would stick some new pads in there while I'm at it ...

any recommendations on which pads ?

& are the front & rear the  same pads on an 04 RE ?

Haha! Long time!

I remember when I joined this forum I was looking to do a kickstart conversion. I read a lot of your posts lol.

That was a long time ago.

Yeah the pads should be the same. I did go to Yamaha and get pads for a 05 DT RE and they didn't fit!!!

I think i've spoken to someone on here and they said that was nonesense. So the guy must have given me the wrong pads.

Best just get EBC ones or something to that effect.

There is to sets of EBC pads. One set is a big fat pair that didn't fit in my DT X 05 I needed the thin ones for my caliper even though I just ground the pad down to get them to fit. They are like double the thickness of the ons I needed. I reckon the RE might need the thin ones to.

Just had a look 2008 I arrived here wink

but not posted for a couple of years ....

i Deffo had more posts back then ... Must have taken some down ?!

forgot to say ..... Vespa GTS 300 SuperSport in Tango Orange as well, last year !

that was a laugh .. !

 

so pads ...

will go for some EBC type then eh ?

wouldnt be a big surprise to find DTX uses different front pads !?

but I'm still not sure if DT RE - Uses same pads in front & Rear ???

some sites list 04 bikes as different spec for pads to 05 bikes ????

cant see it .... But never say never ......

If its anything like what EBC do for car brakes, then like you say its all colour coded, Black is pretty much the standard compound, then its Green, then Red, then Blue, then Yellow. This explains all the different compounds per its colour.

EBC do different types of pad - I used black ones last time and they didn't last five minutes. Got red ones now, we'll see how they go .....
Look on the back the packing - it lists the different types
