Yeah, some are the NY moors but most are around Layburn and Hawes in the NY dales.

I fear if some people went up to some places up there the Mountain Rescue service would need to go fetch them. We have had people literaly crying in there helmets up there never to return again.......;)

Thats why I say I will take them at there own risk Eddy, it aint your average ride down a muddy path shall we say. A DT would struggle on the mad stuff in the NY moors.

The wife and I have walked many of them roads and paths over the years and I know what you mean it is not a place to go on your own, it is tough I have not done much on the bike , only the very easy stuff not having any one to go with most of my biking has bean touring two up and commuting only coming to the DT and trail stuff over the last couple of years , how I wish I had found it years ago , the Dales and Moors I have spent as much time as pos in all our lives

Thats very true Scrims I would love to do more of the easy stuff but it is knowing before you set off I had this in the Isle of Man some one gave me some directions when I was following the Manx Classic trial telling me it was an easy track if that was easy I would not want to try one of the hard ones I ended up on a section that was way beyond my capability's and bike on my own thinking you blo--y silly old fool this is daft , so now I am more care full I try and have a look first and if it looks at all dodgy I turn round and find another way , get to my age you dont bounce right well , plus the LOOK you get when she see's all that mud ?? I have not yet worked out if it jealousy ( she fancies a mud both ??) or she is just annoyed at the dirty foot prints leading to the bathroom , either way she dont say much for an hr or two , and the first words are usually " you get dafter the older you get " wonder what she means ??

Yeah, never a truer word said, we get changed in the back of the van before we set off home. We used to take a young lad with us on his DT he was only about 1/2 a stone ringing wet and his DT went through 3 rear wheels and 2 fronts in a year popped 2 rear shocks and blew out a few sets of fork seals, oh and the clocks shook themselves to bits. He sold it and bought a new KTM EXC125.
