Removing kick start

Hi guys, went to take off my clutch cover and obviously the kick start has to be removed first, is there any simple way of doing this as trying to loosen the bolt just causes the kick start to go down (obviously)

I'm thinking the way to do this could be something like put it in gear then hold in the brake so it can't move then try ? Don't have anyone at home to help me so it's there an easier solution ?

Cheers guys

I tend to puch the kick alway down to foot peg and tie in place . but in most cases you can hold the kicker with one hand and losen the blot with the other .

that said the kicker can come of in place with the side caseing .

Haynes manual said to take it off first but if its not to then ill do that or tie it down, tried holding it and that wasn't happening lol
