Big one expansion is poo. Apparently!

The end can won't affect performance. So no you don'g. You'll be fine.

240 main jet is standard and it is all you'll need or want.

Thanks for that mate, It's loud just the end can, got a standard front pipe BIG ONE end, will the DEP rear be loud too, i spose as long as i take a bit of wodding out the end of it. seems to use more fuel with my big one can though, it pops sometimes, i spose the fuels gotta go somewhere!

Hhmm. It shouldn't. Perhaps your expansion chamber is coked up.

Might need a good clean mate.

What restrictions does your standard expansion have?

Is it gutted?

I think it's got everything in it still, i dont really want to spend out more money to get it gutted really, and im no good at doing things like that myself, it should save me a little bit of fuel with the DEP pipe, as ive taken a little wodding out the BIG ONE

Like i Said the back pipe has no affect on performance unless blocked.

Sounds to me like something is a miss. The wadding is for sound insulation only.

If you opened up the standard restricted pipe you'd know exactly what I mean.

Its actually remarkable it has the power that it does.

You need to decoke the exhaust mate.

There are various ways to do it. But regardless it sounds like it wants to be done.

You'll not want a Big One exhaust Enny, if I can get this 4FL TZR exhaust to sit underslung on the bike, you'll be after one yourself.

DEP expanny rusts way too quickly. I'd go for a standard gutted expanny. IMHO.

If it had any restrictions in, OP would tell it restricts the top RPMs or speed IIRC.

I've had my dep for a while and its go no signs of rust. So not sure where you're comig from. The exhaust says a lot about the owner. Not reguarly cleaning the bike will lead to rust. So thats just down to poor maintenance.

but if your gonna strip something to bare metal you sand blast it ..its the same only sometimes its salt not sandblehblehblehblehbleh

if it can eat thru metal then a coating of just microns aint gone save this shizzaaa lol

No. Its the fact that salt reacts with metal. It won't react with a special coating.

Take this for example. The Yamaha TDR 4FU cylinder. Aluminium cylinder, like the dt. It has microns of special coating inside the bore that allows the piston to compress gas and do its cycle. Now without this coating of Nikasil the piston would just scrap away the aluminium and destroy the barrel almost instantly. But suddenly a small amount of nikasil is lined against the aluminium and its all fine.

Same with the pipe. Use a special polish that will cover the pipe and it will be enough to stop the salt corroding the pipe. Until it washesoff of course.

i dont mean chemical bashing ,i mean physical bashing ..lol the sand and salt hit the bike so hard it strips any coating you put on it strait back off and then lets the corroding begin anyway ,no gettin round it

I couldn't find any ACF-50 in my local bike shop, so settled for another one which was apparently good quality, so the shop said. Applied it twice in all, done about a thousand miles since, DEP is rusty. Will buy some ACF-50 from eBay. :D Accept my apologises. I guess its that rubbish rust stuff the shop sold me. :/

think what these 2-strokes need is a mud guard /rain guard for the pipe headers confuseconfuseconfuseconfuseconfuse

like a bash guard but but with a shaped guard thing too that just hugs the chest of the bikes all light and stuff ,

less chips =less rust

less dents  = full use of the spanny chamber

im gonna judge dred my dtr i think lolol
