Sticky third gear and battery issues

No. The 3BN head has a restrictor on the squish.

The best combo is the 3BN barrel and the 3MB head.

Which i have up for sale.

i was going to use it but i've decided to go the expensive route and buy the 4FU. Paid £70 and its scored badly. No powervalve. And no end caps.

Paid £40 for the end caps. £130 for new nikasil plate. And £30 if any welding needs doing. Plus VAT of course.

So for some reason when I'm ringing the balls of my bike third gear decides it doesn't want to select! I have to let the power and then it will select! Another thing is my battery all of a sudden has stopped working, my horn doesn't work now and my servo doesn't make the little noise it usually does when I turn the ignition on. Any suggestions guys?

Fault to earth can cause loss of electrics. Inspect wiring loom for snagged cable. Are you getting lights or anything?

Worn selectors can leave you with incorrect gear selecting. You'd have to strip it to check.

Check the gearbox oil mate get 30w 5. It might just need a change.

Your electrics sound to be gone. Or battery. You have no alarms or anything like that? Start it up and does the headlight stay on without revs? If not, flat battery something is draining it or it isn't charging.

Dtr runs of the generator mate. Not the battery. Unlike the dtre where it runs off both.

ino, i was out with him when his battery decided not to do anything when he turned the ignition on and his headlights are okay when the bike is running, maybe its his stator just not putting any juice back into his battery

I actually don't see why i post lol. Just don't read what i put.

If you don't believe me then go outside. Take the battery off and start the bike. What do you notice? Ta da!

On the dtr you just get basic functions off the battery. Like PV cleaning cycle. Although i'm sure once the engines runnig there will be power and therefore the pv will do its thing.

Yeah. Not a difficult mod. Just take a live feed from something that runs off the ignition (since you don't want them on when the bike is off). Splice the feed back into the lights. Don't see why you would want to. Its handy at night when you park up and kill the ignition. The dtre ligts stay on. Rinses the batter though lol.

Nothing really. Anything you wire up to it directly. Maybe clocks. But the generator gives you the power once the engine on. You wouldn't run it from the battery.

I've wired it up previously to charge my iphone lol. When you're out and about its handy to charge it lol.

i wouldn't like to mess with the electrics tbh, but it would be handy because when i park up of a night and i kill the engine theres no lights and i canr't see a thing lol

Just have a quick look. It wouldn't be difficult to do. Jjst do it properly. I.e. solder the wires together and use heat shrink. You'll have no problems

Had fresh gear oil mate when it went in the shop! It does when I'm pinning it! i have to let the revs come down to change it even with the clutch in!

as for the electrics my lights work fine when the engine is running, the horn is there but very very dull compared to it being very loud and being able to work without the engine running! The PV doenst do ita little thing now when the keys in the on position but it's still all working fine when running, no loss in power or anything

Could also be a bad earth on the frame, covered either in rust or paint etc.

The fuse is about 2-3" from the positive terminal on the battery.
