You can get the wheela respoked using stainless steel spokes. Thats the way to do it.

Generally clean after use is the best bet. I use wd on chrome and special chrome polish.

first thread (woop woop)

anyway my little 2003 dtr is looking tired and rusting away these days, i can handle the other stuff like nuts/bolts etc its just the wheels that bothering me is there anything i can do to keep it at bay?

i can get most of it removed via a wire sponge and some metal polish with 15mins of elbow grease but its just coming back im sure this is a common problem you all have had to deal with its just with my situation (mortgage and baby) i cant afford to send the wheels off anywhere or really buy some aluminium wr200 wheels (which i wanted to do)..

any advice is much welcome

cheers mofo's smile

ken

its not really the spokes its the rims, on the inside as the rim lifts up to where spokes come out - you know where i mean? its like a ridge its just in this ridge either side of the spokes....
ive cleaned it and cleaned it but honestly i cant stop it, is the rust eater you can get off fleebay anygood?

cheers
ken

The problem is more likely that water has got in on the other side. And is eating it away from inside out.

I've got aluminium wheels so not really a problem for me.

I ave heard good things about that acf 50 stuff but I think that's more for protecting I'm looking for something to deal with the rust first!
Looking at some wr200 wheels I believe there direct replacements?
Cheers
Ken
