I wonder how much a garage would charge to strip your bottom end, replace the main bearings and seals and check over the gear box to see if any selectors are worn? Any guesstimates?
NORFE does it for £70 + parts. £70 labour. Then He'll charge parts. Might be more than £200 total. But I think my other estimate is just for main bearings,
Not yet mush still going strong-ish after bare thrashing. But i need to re-work my engine, so i don't see why not? I'm re-doing my top end for fun as i've got a better ported barrel that's getting rebored as we speak nigg.a.

Nothing better than factory balanced engine. Personally i wouldn't test rebuild my factory built dt bottom end. I'd buy a broken engine from a scrappy.
