More modern styling? Better electrics?
Can't say starter motor cause some older dtr's have starters.

Same engine, same frame same power output. Same gearbox. Same cdi. Same restrictions. I think the x has slightly stiffer suspension.

But they're more incommon than they are different no?

hate re/x's looks butt ugly like a reject from the 90s they try and call modern. and release them in 2004


took a grate bike and runined it lasted 3 or 4 years and look ware are they know thats right no made r's last 14 years re's last 4 haha says alot dun it

Pfft! 

 

You think the reason why the dtr isn't in production anymore is because of the appearence! Far from it. Look on the dvla! there are loads of dtre's about and their sales figures are also there to confirm it. The ONLY reason that the dtr is no longer in production is because of emmision regulations and nothing else. 

 

I quite like the look of the R but it's rectangle lights and fat seat and low reat is horrible. Unlike the pointing rear fender of the re/x and oval lights. 

 

Looks more refined IMO. But taste is subjective. But don't say thT the dt is no longer in production because people didn't like the look of the re

Theres bits i like off the RE X that i would put on a DTR the rear hangers front and rear lights & obviously the rims.
But the rest they can keep I wouldn`t mind the leccy start at times when im feeling lazy but in saying that its another thing to sort when they pack up

I installed the kicker. Far more robust lol. They did make dtr's with the leccy starter!

some parts of them are good got the rear pegs on my dt got x rims but things u say like lights can be changed and the rears you can get hpires rears for the r.

ill admit its the tank that i hate the most the tank surrounds are just ugly and weak.

I personally like the panels.

Hate why they decided tonput the 2 T tank under a friggin pannel. Hate that there is no rev counter. Other than that love it.

with what you have done you should fit a rev couture there is a bung in the hole from what i have herd talked to a guy who had done it and he said he just got the base plate from a r with a contour and a cable and it fitted right up
