Hi I have had my dtr for about 8 months and gone through 5 clutch cable they keep snapping at the lever this can't be normal can it just wondering if any one els has had this problem I buy my clutch cables from yambits and he ensures me they r top stuff also the clutch is brand new was changed a month ago this was every thing friction plates pressure plates and springs and also the lever is brand new to any help guys be apreatated
How difficult is it to pull the clutch in? Could you pull it in with 1 finger? Have you tried spray grease down the cable housing? Have you checked oil level on your engine?
If you have replaced the whole clutch lever assembly and you have renewed your cable I can only say that there must be too much stress on the cable and its breaking at its weakest point
Hi oils fine clutch feels good cables new clutch new oils new lever and asembaly new but the cable is full adjusted like 3 threads from the end I didn't fit the cluck the local bike place did
have you checked the lever its self for and bent or out of shape points that could be rubbing on the cable anything rubbing or comeing into contact with the cable will break it over time .. try changeing the lever or file sand any areas that could contact with the cable
ill buy Yamaha cable and see how that goes but did same on old and new lever cant see and rubbing points all seems ok clutch feels mint just cable cant hack it lol will let u know what happens
