SM Goodness Followed By A Reason To Wear Gear!

I've yet to be beaten by any 125 two stroke. But to be fair the ktm exc's round here are a bit ragged.

And it is tuned. But it was quick as a 125 to be fair.

Them KTM 690 are supposed to be high in maintenance as are other KTM's.

Everything is done in hours rather than miles. If you was to buy a KTM, get a separate road bike for commuting etc. The majority of KTM's are designed for fun not everyday riding. Hence high maintenance.

The 690 is much more reliable than the others, 525 is measured in hours not miles, 250 4 stroke is another strong engine, 450 is same as the 525 for hours rather than mins, not sure on the 2 strokes tho bit I'd assume they're high maintainence

Will have to see when i get mine ;) and i've heard they're fine same with anything just maintain them well obviously the piston change intervals are more frequent compared to the DT and gear box oil changes too. But idgaf it's a ktm! Heard a few good stories of peoplke using them daily and having no issues i'm talking about the 2 strokes btw.

Enny ktm should be fine. Like you said keep up on the maintenance and it'll do you good.

And not so true about ktm reliability. Anyone watch svengalie on Youtube. He was always on his ktm and i don't recall him slagging it off. He had a dtr too! Reason why i wanted so much. Seeing him have so much fun on it.

I don't know a lot about ktm's but a lot of people say they spend more time in the garage than on the road but i can't see it myself. Yes if its putting out serious power then its going to need to br equally maintained. But other than maintenance complete engine overhaul is unnecessary.

Aye Cal the ktms are the best road going 2 stroke you can buy they're enduro trim so not super short gearing like an mx bike and they do well on the road which is why so many of the italian lads have them and all the other bling bikes like in my sig! Just gotta do the piston every 3k+ miles which isn't even bad tbh. They'll do just over 100 and 0-60 in just under 5 secs so not too shabby for a 125 eh? RS killers and everything else for that matter :P there's a vid of querely on his dizzer and he gets smoked by a ktm exc 125 hahaha! here it is!!!!!!!

Uhhh.... :o don't know what to say. That in kmh or summit? Cause thats rapid! I'll try and get one of the clock on the rs some time. It'll do an indicated 110 at 13k revs. So killing it basically. But it'll get there pretty quick. Can't say as quick as that one cause thats mad.

But to be fair reading the comments hes spent £1500 on it getting it that quick. I've spent that much for everything. The bike. The big bore and arrow pipe. So really considering they cost a bomb to get a decent one anyway then to spend another £1500 on it. Starts to add up. If i spent £1500 on my rs i bet i could get it to accellerate that quick. Hell i could probably do that just by dropping the gear ratio.
