i used to own a goliath and a normal tarantula , the normal one was called Alf n you could handle it the goliath was called Kalashnikov and used to get up on its 4 back legs and try and corner my hand when i was changing its substrates sold the goliath and Alf died
Yeah I understand i'm not that fond of them either, I don't kill them but I don't pick them up and hug them either. I checked out all the pros and cons and what it comes down to is you never ever have to touch them. So it's more a hobby rather than a pet.
it's weird hearing them freak out every minute behind my head
Hahaha my god that guy shiiit his pants after jizzing over them "omg this femlae so sxc hehe" looool! Fook that seiks don't blame us if she escapes in the night in a few years fully grown and you wake up like ripley out of alien with her face hugging you LMFAO
lol mate of mine had a Thailand Black he used to hide his class A`s in the tank in the earth where the spider made its nest he said some old bill`s hand will be in for shock if they raided him and mooched in there for his gear.
Nice looking those blue ones , iv had a chille rose tarantula for about 6 years now real easy to keep ,, its around as big as a coffee jar lid now ,, but iv never held it either its for looking at haha
you have no idea how much that made me shake just to look at the picture feel itchy now ....why the fck did I click on this post.
if I see any spider I scream like a girl and will not enter the room its in untill the wife has killed it .
my fathers fault he also was **** scared of them and passed the fear on to me no kidding would fight any bloke or do most things but come at me with a spider and I run like a girl ..............................
Im six foot an 18stone an id be taping the lid down, and checking every ten mins it hadnt chewed lid off an escaped, dont do spiders, mrs gets em out the bath for me!
What's the point in having a pet spider if you can't handle it? Last thing you want is an aggressive spider getting loose.
And when it comes to cleaning the tank, which you'll no doubt have to do. Just let them walk over your hands. The more you do it whilst they're young, the better.
Keep handling them regularly apart from when they're shedding and you'll be all good.
My cousin had a tarantula. A female one, was a horrible little thing. Got out the tank once at night and was crawling in his bed. He didn't handle it much, but she'd make a pile of dirt at the side of the tank, she'd move all of her mess to the side and he'll just collect it. Was a good spider for that. My dad went and stayed there in the spare room with the spiders tank in, he put books on top of the tank because he was scared of it. Hilarious seeing a big bloke scared of a little spider.
omfg this is the last time I click this now just gone past that pic above realy fast and it made me feel ill .. no joke seiki your just evil man [may have spelt name wrong but not going up page to look at it]

Good news, you spelt it right.
Spiders are lovely.
If you have an annoying neighbour, once it sheds whack the skin on their car windscreen, whack it on and watch them in the morning going to work hilarious, know someone who did it to their neighbour, they knocked it off with a newspaper and started stamping on it. Hahahahah
Nah not holding them screw that, not for now anyway. It's not really a pet more of a hobby, I got another one yesterday P.Regalis, sub adult. Just the like one on his face but underneath is bright yellow
I've got all kinds of handling gear and fail safe plan b's going on I never really have to touch it/them. They'll be moving tarnium to tarnium, forget all the small plastic containers to catch it lol . I've even got a plunger type mechanism to isolate them in the tank while water and crickets need to remove.
The Regalis is gorgeous but very very fast, no chances with that one !
Wait until the day one of them gets loose. You will be having a panic. You'll be looking everywhere for them. And if you're scared of them / they aren't used to being handled you've got an aggressive spider running loose.
Sod that, but each to their own.
I'd love to have a Burmese Python, but I'm too much of a wuss to handle them. So having a big snake that I haven't handled so will likely strike at humans, sod that lark. Of course a big snake is nothing compared to a little spider which you could probably flatten with a shoe within seconds of it trying to bite you.

im ino my arachnids too
used to keep and breed scorpios only got the one creepy crawly now :)
i used have the T pictured on thats blokes face indian ornamental was a evil thing!!!
Not a fan of them loose but no problem placing a plastic container over it's head if it's out. They don't run around when free looking for a fight though, they hide.
Normal procedure is to check they're where they're meant to be, if not, then check dark corners. Not an issue because if I did handle them I still wouldn't be running at it with hugs and kisses, it would die before I got bitten trust me lol.
Handling spiders, snakes etc is only to boost someone's ego, it's not beneficial at all to the animal but as you say each to their own.
