there now both male connections where as the the old silencer was female and the pipe diamiter is exactly the same it all bolts up fine but the athena tail pipe is longer also so i either need too chop down my athena or chop down my standard expansion only by an inch or so,because they dont slot together then that way i geuss i could use a peice of coke can to join it together in place its just id rather not chop either of them but it seems to be the only way..hence its a ballache..people suggested abit of rubber hose, but even rad hose i think the dtx could melt them expansion chambers get stupidly hot,but thanks for the ideas..anymore gents ? i would appreciate the input

dont fit together in what way ? pipes to far apart ? - dont fit inside each other ? dont line up ?

maybe join them with a rubber and couple clips if possible

only other option would be cutting and welding extra size pipe on

Yeah. Just mod it mate. Use your imagination. If they fit inside each other bur don't line up with the brackets then nust make an extension bracket.

true many a pipes I have had to make brakets for it to mount right  bit of alloy or any metal two drilled holes couple blts  = job done  even been lazy and just use a small old spanner looked funky

or you can buy such things on ebay

or if its just the join you can also buy rubbers

I'm guessing they're the same size diameter so they don't slide together? Just cut a few inches off weld a larger diameter steel tube on to it, job done. Difficult to say without knowing what's wrong, always a way round it though ;)

from what I've heard they should fit :O
But I remember it said that they would fit both Rs and RE/X on all the dealers sites, but the REs and X have a slight bit different size on the exhausts so maybe that's why.

I don't think they can be that much different, so you should probably be able to mod it quite easy

Nah don't use radiator hose. Use an actual joining rubber.

id think it will need it,need to machine to some prety good tolerences and chrome plate thickness to guarantee a gas tight seal, where as rubber will stretch a bit and give a bit of leeway!

Stick a larger pipe ontop of both pipes instead of using joining rubber, then it won't melt ;)
