Yeah will phone tomorrow would also do all of above so I only lose some money and not get bummed!, you get a better feel about the whole thing when you speak to them rather than text. It's probaly round the corner from my work so no harm in having a look.

My problem is always getting the fecking thing back to my place cause I don't have a van, I always have to rent one for things like this, otherwise I would have went and got it tonight probaly.

tbh I am realy cheeky that way after knocking a bargain down I will then ask is delivery possible and dont offer extra for fuel unless thay ask its a garage so chances are they have a van or some way to transport it even if you get them down to 150 then it costs extra £20 to deliver still a bonus and another photo opp as they unload it  lol .

------

As its got no no's or v5 I'd advise only let them if you got somewhere to properly secure it and not just gonna leave in the back garden under the cover or something similar... Or try get them to drop it off just round the corner and walk the rest or to a mate who lives close and then move it later.. For all you know with it having no no.s the garage could be dodgy and one of em working there had stolen it in the past and now wants to get rid... and if they stole it before you never know they might be tempted to steal it again, lot easier hid they find out where you live

probably not but you never know, and with it havin no no.s gotta take more precaution

not that I hear very often but I've heard of cases where someone's gone and bought something, gets stolen soon after and turns out the actual original seller had and gone it stolen it back secretly in order to make some more money from it, like I said only heard it once or twice, but I bet it happens a lot

kinda worth that price for spares alone and as its a garage get a good well writen recipt even write your own and get him to sign it ..
take some pics of the bike in or out side the garage trying to get the seller in shot with the bike .

most but not all bikes like this are nicked I have bought much worse looking field bikes and after some checks found they are all legal and the v5 could be got .

but if no numbers on engine or frame then buy for spares and do all of the above to cover yourself make printouts and copys of any messages or net adverts and store them as proof and history of the bike ..

you know how to take screen shots dont ya ?

instantly is my answer ... and I would do all of what I said above pics or seller bike and signed recipt  . ask im to hold it up wilst you take a pic say its cus your mate wants to see pic as he needs parts or something.

but be a bloody bonus if you uncover numbers and  get the frame leagal and apply for v5

Get numbers go to cop shop say you're buying it and want to know if it's nicked, they'll tell ya.

Then if it isn't and you buy it go to the DVLA and ask them the story behind it, they'll tell you the registration then HPI check it.

Or you could buy a new frame and just whack it into a new frame that you have a logbook for, saves a lot of ballache. But still check if it's stolen, last thing you want is a stolen engine in a bike you've spent money on.

Yeah, so he'd be buying a stolen bike.

Why would you want to even get involved with a stolen bike?

It's like me nicking your DT and taking the numbers off and flogging it with some **** n bull story about it being a stolen recovery.

Not sure where you're getting those figures from but thats a load of rubbish! Lmao! More like 90% of parts are legit and 10% are knock offs. I've sold/bought many parts from many differeny sellers and not once have the ads seemed dodgey or illegit

decided I'm just going to leave that one, would have been good for parts but it is going to be a real heap of trash at that money and I would have to store it at my mates or something so not worth the hassle.

I really want a complete bike that's relatively new with a seized engine or something.  Will probably regret it at some point but I would rather keep my pot of money intact for the right sale with all documentation. I still have till winter so hopefully I can get something by then.

it sounds like your working from a smallish budget ?  and in that case alone I would have bought it just  to make my budget a little larger by instantly stripping it and selling for parts carb engine cdi ect ect you could easy double your 150-200 paid . its kinda like investing your small saveings and use them to make extra cash wilst it sits there . lets say you find one in winter with damage whats it gona cost you to buy some of the parts you could salvage of this one ?

I don't know about u.... But I'm sure if I started another dt125 project I would be more efficient with my time and also achieve a similar finish for less money. Was thinking about getting a project myself, but buying a offroad quad (50cc) for my son... (Engine seized so considering a new engine maybe a cub90 engine coz of the semi automatic clutch)... Go for it !
