iridium spark plug help

iv put an re engine into my dtr and put a iridium plug in it first time iv used one but my exhaust is getting pretty hot and it spluttering just woundering if it could be plug and should I go back to br9es plug as it all ran fine on my oother engine which was blue printed and ported main jet in car is 310

Why the change? What's the code on the plug. And have you rejetted for the re engine. Since 310 is way too big! They run a 210 main jet.

Carb settings would be way off if you were running a blue printed engine.

no haven't rejeted but exhaust shouldn't be that hot if it running to rich should it and plug BR9EIX and its got a dep full pipe on if that helps, changed engine as mine need rebore head and barrel skimming and takes ages in York for work to be done like weeks lol so just bought engine to use while mine gets done as need for work

Definitely needs rejetting. You'll bore wash the cylinder.

And thats the wrong plug mate. The plug you're looking for is bre8ix. I think you can use the bre9ix. But i've always used bre8ix.

Put origanal plug in rejected and bike runnes better but exhaust getting very hot which is kinda sorting I have no idea why it's that hot started to melt the rubber

i put an iridium one in my dtr today and there is a difference its much smoother

i blew my dt up ... but i fixed it.... Then i crashed it.... but i didnt fix it right and 2 scouser's come in the middle of the night and left me with a working bike

Exhaust gases are hot. Have you got sufficient cooling over the exhaust port? I.e. no blockages or the like.
