Get that bike to how yamaha intended i.e. no restrictions. Derestricting the re is very easy and worthwhile. Not only will it be better for the engine but it will also be better to ride.
13'000 is enough mileage for a top end rebuild so consider gettong the top end off and sorting out any issues there before real problems occur. Other than that looks real good
I did think about doing a top end rebuild because they say that it should be done at 10,000 miles but it runs so smooth and starts hot or cold on the button
I guess but then i have to pull it all apart.... i might just leave it and use it untill it starts to knock which means need new piston and rebore or it will blows up it all depends if it been race around by previous owners it might last till 15,000 or more
No mate. It's two nuts on the exhaust studs. One on the expasion chamber and another one further up. For the sake of 15 mins and four bolts you're telling me you'd rather have the engine rebuilt than check to see it's condition. Yeah good one.
At very least take the spark plug out and have a look at it. The spark plug will tell you everything you need to know about how the bike is running. 15 minutes to check up the exhaust port will tell you what condition it is in.
I looked in the exhaust port its looks alright its a little hard to tell looking in a small hole. but it might be a little bit scored just little lines but other that finee!!
I did not know what you ment, I was trying to look at the piston throught the hole!
The piston does have some little marks on it, but they may be nothing but they could be cracks? Little lines between rings and at top and bottom edges?
I now realise you mean look at the bore so I lowered the piston and I can see the bore, its looks good and the " crosshatching " still looks visable.
I hope this means that the piston will go for a little longer......I tried to take picture but I don't think you will see anything as they do not look very clear
