hello guys im calling out to other dtx and re owners, is there any bracket or something that goes under the rear fender because it doesnt seam to be going well together if its resting on the frame itself, or do i just use spacers. if somebody has some pictures of how it is mointed and how are the side panels mouted correctly so they line up with the seat that would be very much apriciated
On the ride side mind don't sit under the seat properly so drilled a hole at the top of the panel where it should sit behind the seat and then cable it tied to the frame, brought it in to the way it should sit
would I be right in thinking you mean the front of the side pannels is lower ? are they bolted to the airbox ? that would lift or be lifted once carb ect in ?
if you look in his pic attached closely looks like hes cut down the rear fender that much so that he can have the rear side panels locking into the rear fender, see what i mean, which would explain why he's using fiber glass for the hpires?? think im right on that 1
yes ur correct the standard is cut down and hpires is going to be fiberglassed to if. i need to fiddle with the side panels a little bit more to get them alined a bit better, and find a way to make the tail look good, it looks like the frame has to be cut down to make it looke like this one. but as you can see his rear side panels fit right under the seat
so once done how to you go about getting to battery fast ? I know been loads of times I had to take pannel of for fuse or battery problems ?
your gona have to remove seat and all sides and fender by the side of road if need be ?
no the rear side panels stay as original. imagine the original rear fender cut off just after where the seat is and than the hpires glued onto it :) so it would be just as if there was an original fender there
let me know your price mate but the parts on their own are quiet expensive, hpires fender standar fender fiberglass filler sanding paper etc, i have got a yz fender and i could try making one from that
