[HOW TO] Modify Polisport MMX for H4 bulbs
Permalink

Hey
I got a request from some people on how I modded my polisport headlight to make it fit H4 bulbs.
I know it's a few weeks ago, but I haven't really had time, but here it is now :)

Anyways, this is how:

1. Remove this part from the h4 bulb, but be careful to not damage any other part of it

2. Take out the plastic that hold the original bulb, and cut off about this much of the plastic, and bend the metal plates away from it

3. Take a fapwheel (sandpaper works also but takes much longer) then work it out in there until it gets wide enough for the H4 to fit.
To keep in mind: Drill it out / sandpaper it out JUST ENOUGH for the bulb to fit, because you don't want it to be loose inside that piece of plastic

4. Bend the ironwire thingy that holds the plastic thing in place about smthing like in the picture above.

5. Put it all in place

When you got it all fitting, you might have to adjust the bulbs position until you get optimal lightning in both half and full lightning

Also, I just changed the bulb in mine and forgot to look on how the previously were placed, but I think it should be the right side up in the pics

I adjusted it almost perfect now, but I didn't really get any good pics since my phone doesnt capture any good at all when it's dark

But I can gaurantee that it lights up alot better with the 60/55W h4 than the original 35/35W, plus you can fake xenon/blueish H4s :)

Although I could use my moms phone if you really want to see the light output, but it that case it'll have to wait a day or two

Haha. My headlight has been quite muddy so I figured I'd clean it... damn it started to light up well again :D - so I thought I'd give it another try taking a pic but still you can't really see how good it actually lights up in reality. But now, when I got home again, I realized I should have used the HDR feature on my Iphone... I'll do that next time, cuz that should do it!

(.... too tired to go driving out on the road again)

When I done it to mine I just copied them from the original h4 plug that the dt has as standard but I think from memory the left pin is earth.if you test wchich live is which using a multimeter u can find the earth that way.thats how I done it anyway.turn headlights on put negative wire to frame and then touch each of the 3 wires until one gives u a live reading.then do same with high beam switched on.this will give u the two lives and the one left is the earth.i had to turn my bulb upside down to get a better light output so the single pin at the bottom but to be honest light output is still not brilliant and unsure whether the beam patten is right for mot.

Nice job Hairdoo!
I adjusted mine by taking the headlight off and adjusting the bulb while aiming the headlight at a wall further away.

You probably figured out which one is earth etc.

Since the dt's got h4 from fabric, the original connector will work..
(unless you've cut of yours and connected it some other way, but I didn't so i dont know :P)

And yes, the mmx isn't made for h4 lights so I don't think you can get it like fully optimal, but it's atleast much better than mmx original bulb
