I went to my local Yamaha dealership and asked where I get one from. They turn around to me and said that they can supply them are about to get a load through. So if anyone is interested here's how you can get one.
Been thinking of one of these after the other post I saw on here look really good any idea if they work on older models as couldnt find any info on the other post after following links.
Cant wait to see how you get on with it looking forward to your findings.
There's a firm on the web mate called 'The tuning works' that supply them, says on the Zeeltronic site that they're the UK distributotr aswell so no cowboy bo**ocks...
So are Yamaha skellerns mate. The reason why i put it up is because a yamaha dealer knows more about the Yamaha Dt than most. The guy i speak to knows a vast amount about two strokes and dt's.
This is what i found out yesterday. You can have two types. Battery capacitor units and generator capacitor units. One won't work if you have the other. So you need to speak to someone who knows what they're talking about when ordering. Snd it helps if they know your bike inside out.
You got a dtre though haven't you? It's not that simple on a dtr. Zeeltronic don't do a dtr ignition. Thats why you need to speak to yamaha to see whether they can get one to fit.
Yes! Saved myself a whole £6! And it didn't come with a map! Fck yeah saved myself a whirl of money.
The only thing Yamaha did for me is order it and give advice which i needed and wanted. But if you know what you want then yeah just order it from them directly.
I don't like to slag off companies. But specifically asked whether they could make it work for the 4dl. But no. It's re only. Luckily it's not a problem. The 4dl is pretty much a re engine. I'll just need to swap the coils over and it'll work.
So got the ignition before christmas. Plugged it in a few days after christmas. Tried starting her up. Nothing. Spark or anything.
Scratching my head. Wtf. Old cdi back on. First kick shes fired into life. As reliable as they come.
Bit confused here. Got my bro round. Ky just double check i'm not being thick here. Follow the wires. Check the loom. Check everything. Nothing. Won't start. Great. Turn the ignition off and for a laugh kick the starter. Fires into action. All be it very sketchy. Kill the ignition and then another scratch the head. Reluctant to start messing with the loom on my new ignition i contact zeeltronic.
Ah sorry calum sounds like there are no maps on that box. You will need to buy a programmer. Wtf! I paid for a plug and play aready programmed box. That has no map on it. Right. Okay little pissed off now but yeah sure. I suppose i wanted a programmer anyway why not ey. So £65 later i've now got a programmer. Haven't tested it. Was looking forward to it.
Sat on the crapper reading my emails. Sorry Calum it turns out it's a software issue send us the back the ignition and we will send it back and can work out a discount on the programmer.
You're having a fûcking laugh ain't you. Seven days ago you told me that i needed to buy a programmer. Now i've bought one you're telling me you'd offer a discount.
Right i said no it's okay i've got a programmer now. Will sort it out this weekend. Only to find out that the problem is a little bit more than this.
Sorry again Calum but I don't think I made it clear you cannot and must not use the cdi. It needs to come back to us for upgrading.
Great crack! So i've spent £300 for nothing.
Whilst I haven't got any further i don't slate companies off that haven't had a chance to redeem themselves. Borut is absolutely excellent in responding to my emails and very helpful. It's just a crying shame that the one thing i buy from them doesn't work and by the sounds of things have been wrapped up and hidden.
Damn mate that's shiiit! Shame like you say cause Borut is a top lad! Been speaking to him today about the progrees of the DTR version, gonna bloody make damn sure it's fully ready now lol.
Fair enough. If they're making one for you then why are you asking about a product that isn't yet released to people who have not enquired about it.
All I know is I've had to send mine back as it was faulty but they should be plug and play so no need to worry about anything else. But yours is for a wr200 isn't it? I'd go and get yourself a programmer. For the sake of £65 grab a programmer.
Yes Louis same here man got the same email from them today as mines 03 same as yours dude. They are after a wiring diamgram?? I was like wtf really?? can't you grab a manual or pdf or google LOL? Seems a bit lame how they don't have a wiring diagram lol...So i havn't bothered replying yet
