Hi bought another carb front off ebay with a rounded mixture screw managed to get old one out but new one will only screw in 3 turns have retapped a 5mm thread but will still only go in 3 turns is this normal.

Should go in alot further mate,the bottom o-ring needs to seal properly

Hmmm might have to get another carb afterall its annoying cos old one screwed out easily with a small drill hole and a star bit

Bit of a update have bought a empty carb off a member hopefully will be coming tuesday and a new 240 main jet aswell.

Other carb deal fell through have got the new mixture screw and it seems to be turning in alot moree now could someone post a pic of there mixture screw screwed into the carb recess so I can see if my screw goes in far enough.thanks

the top of that screw also looks bit batter and you could end up the same problem again .

take it out and neaten up the notch with hacksaw and use a correct size and fatness screwdriver

Thanks for the advice however bought another carb in the end as had enough of fiddling about with it might still fit the plate to my old carb and put it on ebay or keep as spares
