Lol! Highly unlikely since they've been making the Yamaha dtr since 1982. Yamaha dtr not lc.

1985 sorry. And actually just had a look. They made the dtre in 1999 as well. So it could be. Would have to be an import though.

Sorry dread I was on the mobile.

No I'm not disputing it's a DT LC mate. I was saying Unlikely it's one of the first ever DTR's since they had been making them for two years prior and can only imagine how many they knocked out in two years of production.

Yeah NEV put up all the years of the DTR on this forum. Under Pictures you can see all the years and all the codes that went with them. And according to that diagram (if it's correct) they were making the DTR back in 1985 and from what I've read they also did an electric start dtr from that era too!

They weren't making them back in 85 as they were known as lc... liquid cooled? Maybe on Japanese market but not anywhere else. Original release on Y reg.. So around 1982?

Looking at that post.. It is just Japan that called it R... everywhere else called it LC. So I'm right.. Lol

So to clarify

Anybody outside of Japan.. Meaning test of the world. 1982/83 up to around 87/88 was dt125lc.. onwards dt125r.

Lol there

hmm yeah I see now . the seller disputes this and claims  with out a doubt that it is a dtr
message I got from him..

..............................................................................

Hi sorry but this is one of the first DTR`s to come out and had the first YPVS, if you see on fowler motorcycle web site this does prove that the bike is a DTR unless fowler`s are wrong too, That is where is have got this info from but the hynes manual for these did not come out until 88/89
so as far as all are concerned this was and is not missleading, but thank you for being concerned

Although it states he has v5... mistakes do happen with registrations though. Even still regardless of paperwork it is an LC haha

The quickest way to tell if it's a DTR or a DTLC is tha the frame on a DT does not join in a rounded loop at the back. Thats an LC.

And you can also tell on this one from the lack of grill section under the headlight surround.

well the seller was a bit not nice after I stated it was not a dtr but a LC

his last message
......................................................................................................................................................
I`m not getting into a argument over the inter net, plus knowing that you are wrong seeing the frame numbers say that its is, fowlers say it is .... you are probably just one of them people that are not happy unless you are arguing
if you are still not happy with this please ask DVLA to change the log book as they are wrong too like everyone else in your eyes INFACT
I will not be replying to anymore messages from you
