Thats mine aswell but thats at the garden with no acces to it without someone noticing as its realy hard to get a bike there in the first place. I just cannot wait to see the **** who took my bike

belive me if you got it there a theif can get it out faster .

I have heard many omfg stories  of bike or car theft  fact is if you can get a bike there they can get it out 2 scrotes can lift a dtr over any wall or fence easy .

find a post code for a local garage or business or even some one you dislike maybe even the police station post code and put it on your adverts / gumtree account  it will still show honest buyers the right area just not the correct house or street  also the theif/s  could be a forum user even if not posting so he will see anything writen or posted .

also cannot wait to see the theif not sure that will ever happen . I saw the theifs on my brothers transalp I was on one of my bikes at the time alone there was like 20 of them all around it on a field  not a lot you can do . they spotted me also and by the time we got a van full of mates  they was gone .

not sure you said above was it insured ?

Sorry to to see you lost your bike, and i hope you get it back. But you couldn't be more bait if you tried! At least for the sack of the bike you still have, take the map location off of your gumtree add!

I know its just all of the bikes i have sold had maps on them and similar pictures and i never had a problem woth it. Even if they wanted they could ask for my postcode from a pay as you go sim and they will know straight away

If the thieves are determined enough, they will steal your bike no matter how secure you make it. The easier you make it for them, the more likely they are to take it. If you dangle a carrot under a horses knows, he will eat it...

LEARN FROM YOUR MISTAKES!

welll aparantly 1 camera has cought him taking it, and coupleof houses down there is another one that can be seen if it was put in a van or rode of or whatever, but the guy that has the password for the cctv is away till monday :( . some guy replied to my add saying that he has all the panels for sale, but than i think he noticed who it was that posted the add and never replied back but i doubt police would be bothered to get that info off gumtree

one thing you should know ... the police dont realy give a fck about your bike or the theft no real legwork or paperwork will be done and it will just be marked to watch out for it not realy look for it.

cctv dvr most 24 hour record about 100 hours so by the time the guy is back it could overwrite any video of the theft .

even if you was standing by a field and your bike was being ridden on that field by 20+ youths and you called the police no one would come and if they did maybe hours to late .

these days you have to do most of the legwork collect all the videos/films from each cctv take good stills from it also post it all over the net and youtube asking if anyone knows the person then once armed with a name search facebook ect for a match then either pass that info on to coppers or check it out yourself .

I wouldn't agree completely with MDK there. Whilst what he says is partly true it's not to say it's true for all police. When my bike was stolen I had an officer go round the place where it was stolen from to collect CCTV. (Support officer mainly Probably wanted the case to try and promote rank. Either way it's a good thing). I also had a forensics lady come rounds a few hours after I retrieved it to try and recover prints or any other incriminating evidence.

For me it's always they're there when I don't need or want them but never around when I need them.

Yeah Calcium It's the same old, same old with them for me too.

They'll always turn up after something's happened, NEVER when you need them. "Hi there guys is everything okay? No you daft tw@t you're 10 minutes late!"

One of many great examples i'm able to share with you all; Me and my friends came back from go karting the other week, we rode to our local tescos after. as one of our friends needed fuel. So we've done filling up, go to set off and my mate's bike won't start, so we're forced to diagnose the problem and try and get it bumped obviously. So we're there being useful, not harming anyone or making a noise, BOOM out of nowhere the smoked rindless bacon rashers appeared! For what reason you ask? To maybe give us a hand? Nope, just to be nosey bástards then a few minutes after fork off. No help at all or anything, cheers lads! So I then proceeded to push my mate on his bike to the local bike garage he bought the scrap from.

2months he must have massive harddrives in them lol my 350gb do.s about 100 hours .

yeah I would do the same plaster his face all over and even if he gets named and nothing comes of it at least you will know who he is or where he is till the end of time.

and in worse case if you never recover the bike at some point something from it will show up on ebay ect that you know came of it and with a little work could be traced back to where it came from

litle of topic but lol at the plane in google earth near your home. looks bloody low  airport near by ?

Sounds like you're getting closer to the thief. Keep going and ignore the insensitive morons on here telling you about all your mistakes in an insulting way. As MDK said its useful to point out the short comings but to carry on at it and take the piss like YamahaYZ ( this is a DT forum so well done on your name) and boxing, is just not on. We are a community forum guys and theres no need to add insult to injury.

One day when your bike is stolen and you feel the pure anger and sadness that it brings, you may well feel sorry for the comments. Just have a think.

Best of luck with the search for the scum Seb and keep us updated!

mdk is correct I had a downhill mountain bike stolen from a locked garage
it turned up on ebay a few weeks later I called the police with crime number etc they weren't interested an said they would phone back
they didn't
In the meantime I arranged with the ebay seller to buy the bike
its now back with me an I didn't give any money for it
