Alright peeps hows it goin? My names Ryan and im from sunny south wales, i just bought my first dt! Its a 2001 and mechanically she seems fine and has just had an engine rebuild before christmas! Obviously shes not perfect as shes an old bike but she is abit grubby!

That means i must call on you all to give me a hand!

The clutch seemed a little stiff! It went into gear fine and didnt slip or anything but seemed stiff to pull! Is there anything i can do to fix that? The rest of the stuff is cosmetic, seat has a rip, tank has a dent. Anyone know any good places to get the seat cover and tank? Preferably a second hand tank! Someone had also painted the swingarm gold and i noticed under the gold, was wondering what the best way to take it down to metal and would it be okay to spray it with like a clear coat after? Also just remembered haha, the rear indicators are odd so i need to buy new ones anyone know where to get them from? 

Also under the rear fender i noticed the wires to the lights are just there, didnt look all that water resistant so is that normal?

welcome to the forum m8y, a new clutch cable will/should sort out the stiff lever and most of the other bits ur after u will prob find on ebay and try the "useful links" section on here for parts aswell

Cheers butt. What about plastics? Cant seem to find whole plastic sets anywhere. Would a yam dealer be able to get them?

hi and welcome .

is your clutch cable sett correctly and also the cable run correctly as it can seem tight if twisted wrong round the frame .

as for plastics its either many hours searching for good ones and buying one at a time till you have a full sett or you can buy new repo ones from this guy many use him so if a good seller tbh .

Just bought a barrel off Victor. Hopefully i can collect that today. I was gunna sell her. But i waited half my childhood to get a 2 stroke geared bike on road so i decided to fix her up!
