So I've heard that you can make a stock exhaust louder if so how and also a video of a decatted exhaust to see if its a bit louder hate a bike which isn't load.
I personally don't like the sound of a DEP, sounds way too tinny for me. Although 2 strokes are supposed to sound that way. I still don't enjoy it. Cut open the standard pipe and remove the cat, then make sure all the restrictions from the exhaust are removed also.
i think DEP are costly for what they achieve..when there are other pipes available that produce same effect or near as. gotta agree though nothing rusts quicker than DEP.
but if i cut the cat out and put a dep back pipe would it sound good 2 stroke are meant to be loud i think they sound goodd loud anyone got video of decatted exhaust ?
Two strokes aren't 'mean't to be loud'. They just happen to be loud. A decent two stroke can preform well and still be relatively quiet. It's propa gash to have a loud bike. All blow no go.
A compromise is what you want. Not too loud that it deafens everyone. Not too quiet that it's restricted. A standard gutted pipe IS that compromise.
The DEP's okay. I wouldn't highly rate it. I'd rate it. But not Highly rate it. If you're serious about the sound then grab yourself an Arrow pipe.
I dont think it would sound too bad loud, because it not like a four stroke where its loud throughout the rpm range, its only at the top end on the band, i think the dt should be fast enough to get away with it ;)
I cant stand the original sound of an RE. Sound like sewing machine :D
The original silencer is the most soundkilling part, so get an aftermarket silencer instead of modding cuz the original looks like crap anyways
and if you want that crisp twostroke sound you need cut open the exhaust and remove the cat + the all soundkilling material around the inside (+ the cone thing deeper inside - it's a restriction)
I didnt remove the soundkilling material when i destricted my pipe, so I don't really have that crisp, smattering sound, but with the dep silencer and derestricted, it has a really nice deep loud sound coming out behind ;)
yeh true dat Cal, where im riding offroad more i prefer the loud aggressive sound, but i must admit the 'quieter' version sounded much smoother, probably better for sm but go loud for offroad, my opinion
