Is there any difference between the power valve with a diamond end and the one that's just oval/straight with round ends ? Of so which is better and what's the benefits ?

Diamond ends and oval ends? I'm only aware of diamond ends they allow a plastic mould to be used for the servo.

So the oval one might be for the non servo assisted.

The ones with round ends are the same shape as the slot in the back of the pulley wheel they fit in nice and snug but the diamond ones looked like they might move about

My DT has a the valve locked in place and it had a diamond on the end so it doesn't fit snug into the pulley wheel but I've just bought a spare barrel and the valve has the puylley wheel and housing fitted.but the valve itself has instead of the diamond shape on the end it is shaped like the back of the pulley wheel and fits in snug

Well one is out a 200cc engine and the other a 125. So they're not interchangeable.

Yeh on the picture its a 200 barrel but they also come in 125s I have have 2 barrels here both are 3MBOO and both have the y-2 casting stamp on them but one has the diamond power valve and one has the straight one with rounded ends
I've seen plenty of dt's with both types fitted

Well the powervalve is just a bit of metal that rotates. So long as when it's open it doesn't obstruct the exhaust port then that's all that matters. There wouldn't be a better one if they both have the same characteristics.
