Not sure what you mean? I think so, last time I pinched myself.
I don't have any pics at the mo, bike is in bits as I have just changed the crank seals after it constantly stalling when it's hot and thought I would give the power valve a clean while the motor is on the bench too.
Bike is a 1997, black in colour and is derestricted, not much else I can say about it really.
Bone dont be worried about some people on here they are very warey of new people because a scammer has been targeting this site

I thought that's what Shotti might have been suggesting, but I am not a ratbag scammer as I have a conscience. I had read something on the site that you guys had had problems with some dodgeyness going on,

Well I must say I am rubbish at posting pic's of my bike as I haven't taken any due to it being in bits, but I am going out in the garage tonight so I'll have some pics tomorrow . I am a tad paranoid that people will be thinking I haven't even got a DT, you'll be able to tell it's mine as it has Manx reg' same as my Chevette. Till tomorrow.
We all have to be weary but if you think about it, it only comes into play when buying and selling.
If I was buying off someone on here i'd want every bit of info I can get before I send a penny or part. Anyone who isn't dodgy shouldn't have issues with that imo.
Unfortunately because of the scammer/s he and everyone else who joins will have to gain peoples trust.
Normal members join up, make a picture thread or project thread and go from there. Or others like the scammer just join and ask stupid repetitive questions. Either way it doesn't really matter till buying/selling.
That's not to say new people can't use that section, course not, just means people have to be extra careful.
If you are a genuine new member then hopefully you understand and get through it, if say you were the scammer it'd be quite difficult to go unnoticed now.
Here is a pic of my 97 DT, I have spent a bit of time fixing things since I bought it. I have put a pair of crank seals in it as it wouldn't run after stalling when it was hot only when the choke was on. The seals were rusty and deformed so hopefully this problem will be sorted now and it will run as it should, while I was waiting for gaskets to arrive I cleaned the power valve as well. It's been a while since I have really had anything to do with bikes so it is nice to have a look how things work and check to see if things need tuning or not. Anything that needed replacing has been replaced, rear disc, pads all round, gear oil, chain and sprockets and carb cleaned etc. I just need a new fuel tap as it is letting a little bit of fuel through when the tap is off, so I think I will get a new tap as the small white nylon part of the tap must be worn.

Bike has 5300 miles on the clock and I have spent ages cleaning and cleaning off the silver paint from places that just needed degreasing, the guy I bought it off I must say was a muppet.
He was talking as if he was some sort of bike guri but didn't know his ass from his elbow. Must have had a good sales pitch as some idiot bought the bike (O bugger that was me)
So these fuel taps are prone to failure then? Any suggestions on who does the best taps on ebay?
No clue man i've gotten straight from dealer £22 iirc
To be fair it was probably my fault on the first two, building meant taking tank on/off hundreds of times so tap get banged about. I've not read anyone else having the issues I had.
Philippe over in Portugal sells decent taps cheap on Ebay (filed7071), you can find his shop with same stuff bit cheaper too on here in useful links IIRC.

Thanks, I have an old tap that I got with a rotten tank so might see what I can do to save/use it. If that fails might take a chance on an ebay special, only because I want to get it on the road this week.
Well the DT has gone to a better home now as I no longer need it as test has been passed and Husky is getting the supermoto treatment with some nice Talon/Excel rims new plastics and some carbon fiber bling. I forgot to take any pictures of the DT once I had cleaned it up from the previous owners 'tarting up', the bike looked in clean standard form once I had finished with it which looked far nicer, sad to see it go even though I had problems with it. It was fun stripping it and fettling with it. I'll probably pop up on the forum now and again as I have a few spares to get rid of. Bye for now...
