I used to use Direct choice when i first got a car... quite a few yrs ago now ... like 17yrs but it was more like 400 quid for a fiat 126 (mum chose), which was snappy style swapped for a ford sierra Cosworth (which sdidnt cost much more on the insurance at 19yrs old, shortly b4 i blew it up at 142mph...

Some say Live to ride, I say ride to live, and depending how you ride, decides how long u live lol
no claims usually needs to be 'on a private car' for it to be applicable on a car
and yeah but the cheapest qoute ive got (£3080.43) doesnt do named drivers,
it is well stupid, my dt, last year was 630 for me to insure third party,
this year its 380 third party fire and theft, with the same company!
Where the hell do they justify this poo?
and yesssss fiat 126! love them like crazy even stock there gorgeous!
How many miles a year? Put lower than you would, exagerate how safe you car is when parked at work etc i.e in a secure car park and have you tried the company's not on the comparison sights? You can even go on drive like a girl .com ha, apparently quite cheap
Insurance prices really fuk me off too. Got a quote for a laugh on my dad's old turbo'd miata, 6 fooking grand they wanted and that was without me declaring all the mods on the 1.8 lump mind, just for giggles. Then tried a integra for a laugh, boom 12k. civic type r was around 7 grand and an integra was 12 grand? Love that logic. Then for more laughs tried an r34 and that was 26k LOL.
Fook cars, i want to eventually get my test done and that but for me personally i'm not getting 4 wheels until it's necerssary.
Have never even had my free lesson and i'm 21, have literally no interest in cars, apart from being a petrol head and the engine/sounds/tuning etc...

I don't find it too bad. Civic type r was about £1600 for me.
My dad turbo charged his MX5. Be interesting to see what comes back on that.
Love cars. Love it. Love it love it. Insurance though. Want a cnt. It's because of these shít drivers and thiefs make it impossible for genuine lovers to get one. No we have to a 1. Nothing. No good for picking up skirt.
Nah really fcks me off. They don't make cars like they used to. Sure they've got more power but have killed the power delivery. Smoothed it all out. Old turbo cars used to wheel spin when the power kicked it. Now you only realise it because of the induction.
You'd have loved my RS2000 rally prepared I used to have back in the day Cal, lancia and tr7 before that then an sri cav when I grew up, and became more sensible.
i dont want to be fraudulent lol
na i would but theyve been clamping down on it recently (idk if its just my area)
ive had a few mates get done for it, stupid fines and bans,
and yeah was going to go on my dad traders policy but you have to be 21.
im a welder, armour plating, by trade and if i even say that on the phone to them it bumps up the price because its something to do with cars
its all multipliers and constants for the options so theres no way im going to get out of paying 3k
thanks for the advice guys and expect pictures of the dub soon ;)
Feel for you young ones really..although back in early 90's i was paying insane costs to drive Rs turbos, 205 gtis,xr2 and 3i's, uno turbos....had them all and spent fortune on insurance money-and all on 3rd party only lol.
17 yrs on ,now being a paramedic and advanced driver blue light trained-my insurance costs are next to nothing- heck i can even get quoted on VXR's and cosworths for under £500 fully comp now!!! - get a few years under your own name and the difference will become clear.there will be light at end of that tunnel! just dont drive with undeclared mods, and do this fronting business where you insure someone else and you become main driver..it aint worth the points etc..as i have found out in my younger days...:p
one call insurance...my current ride as Danny Dt will confirm sat on my drive is brand spankers Astra GTC turbo bright canary yellow on 13 plate £450 with excess of £500 total :p
Aye missus has a new 13 plate Astra as her company car, must say its good for a diesel, but small inside, for me anyroad. Last diesel was an Omega elite turbo diesel, with the 2.5 BMW engine in it not the Vauxhall 2.2 block. Always been a big fan of Vauxhall motors to be honest.
I'll give that One call a bell when renewal time comes up.

Mmmm lovely. What Lancia did you have? TopGear Rated them as the ONLY manufacturer to release nothing but GREAT cars.
My favourite would have to be the Lacia Delta Integrale. Gorgeous motor especially in its rally colours. Or standard they still are lovely!
Would be an all time dream to drive one. There is a chap near me with a lovely condition one.
