Nowadays though I'd have a KMX well over a WR125 lol

The aprilias are really fast! Much more like a crosser engine! Sound nice as well!

Get a jack up kit for the DT. The YZ isn't much bigger than my DT.

I think i literally find the whole frame small, not the height issue
The dt's frame hasen't got the sleekness of a enduro or mx's, and the seats very low!
But i love it ;)

What? Lol my brothers YZ is definitely thinner than my DT.

There is something about the YZ though. I get on it and although it's the same cc it does feel fatter. I love it. So light and quick it's just awesome

If thats for me then i meant the length, not the width, tall buggers like me need the bars further forward, thats why i boight an offset triple clamp for the kx

Yes the yz is very nimble, and very fast!

I'm 6'4" and my lads 6'6" we find the DT plenty big enough 2 stroke.

The frames of bikes such as yamaha are built for the average rider in japan, and the average height is 5'9 or somewhere round there i think in japan

I ride in a aggressive stance or attacking position whenever i get on a bike, so for me that means elbows way fukin up and chin over the bar, arse sticking out and back as straight as possible.

When im sitting down the dt is nice and comfty, but 80% of the time im standing up, and because of my long legs it can be abit awkward riding a bike not suited to me; prefering tall bars with minimal sweep etc

On the dt im way over the front, but if you ride in the natural stance or enduro stance then you tend not to notice the small things, its about riding comfortabley because obviously enduro's last allot longer than mx races

Sounds like you need to raise your bars with a conversion kit, then get higher sweep Renthals or similar then, much more comfier.

Anyroad how tall are you, 7'3 or something?

Yeah I got bar risers on mine. The bike is jacked up and I've got USD's. It feels plenty big enough for me and I'm not short arse!

Im saying this is how i ride and this is how you're surpose to ride in mx, my set-up's perfect for me, im trying to make the point that because you dont ride in the typical mx aggressive stance (i assume) you may not notice the dt's smaller frame

P.s i have previously used the renthal rc high bars, tallest and straightest bar on the market, perfect for enduro, too high for mx after i bought the triple clamp to move the bars further forward an slightly higher; feels like your riding a chopper in the rutty corners!!

Ha i bet it did, im only 6'3 so small compared to you giants but annoyingly i have long legs

Before i started mx i could get on any bike and find it comfortable, but when i started to get faster i realised what was limiting my control over the bike

Carlossrexx from in here is another big lad if I remember right, plus I think he crosses too, you ought to see how he goes on in comps.

Another bike if you're not bothered about it being a 4 banger, does very well in comp stuff, is the Rieju 450 Marathon Pro Comp, it has a 450wr Yam engine in it, in a Sherco designed frame, if I was 20 years younger and doing comps, I'd have one at the drop of a hat, they are massively high of the ground them.

I'm 6ft 4, and after I fitted renthals with a bigger rise, usds and a jack up kit the dt felt awesome under me!

Ol carlos yes i will have to share set-up tactics with him at some point, might get a ktm 150 some time down the line as i hear the average height in america is bigger than japan, so the frame might suit me better

Love a 4stroke thats what i ride mx, i'll have a look at that bike mate, haven't passed my full test yet though

Yeah. Difference is thiugh is the DT is far from an MX bike. It's a road bike.

True Calimari, but most people progress from going off road first on their DT's, then change after a while to a crosser.

Not full blown mx'ing on a dt? That would be awesom if you could. A bit of green laning. That's quality.
