lost many a links on chains so now always carry spare split link on the keyring . have en=ven been known to carry a bit of think copper wire and temp ling the chain slow ride home ..

It didn't break at the split link, that copper wire idea is luls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! might just start carrying a spare chain although my off road bag keeps getting heavier

Ive never worn any additional protective gear on my own land because i know it so well... I dont mind hurt i dont like break, and protective gear wont stop breaks anyway, fair enough boots protect the ankle, neck brace aswell
A bike like the Dt isn't hard to control so i dont feel too intimidated, but when i ride the kx450f i would never ride it without full gear on
Plus it feels awesome when none of your movements are restricted
But yeh i know you should wear the gear all the time, no matter how well you think you know the track, but f*** it

Fair enough, i have been known to do a flying lap with no helmet around my local woods/track
