life was all great cruising around bike was running lovely then decided id shut the bike off chill, with the weather being nice an all. then terror 4 miles out in the middle of nowhere the bikes not starting for sheet . i ended up near enough stripping it down just to pull the spark plug kicked it over expecting fuel floodage , an instead i get a face full of coolant ,
After kickin away forever getting the water out the bike finally started so it got me home
pulled it all apart to find my piston had a bit of damage that worn the nickosil coating on my barrel until its cracked my cylinder ,, thought one of the valves was shot to but it looks ok now iv cleaned it up

yeah it could been worse i really didnt fancy pushing it ,, Always carry that lucky tool bag its saved me over an over... got a new cylinder an piston on the way already no messing around ill be back on her by next week..
At least iv got piece of mind now seen inside the engine know the condition an know shes gonna be good when iv redone it all . my old dtr went like stink after rebuilding it
My WR went bang 3 weeks ago too, after riding the tits off it in France with some boys from here. Got it back about 3 hours ago, **** me I forgot what an animal it was! 3rd gear power wheelies pleaseeeee.
yeah cant wait to get it going again ,Still got plenty of love for the old dtr's mdk my mate, best 125 there is.. The power delivery on these 4ts though is something else ,ya cant knock it till youve tried one thats all im gonna say , i wasnt a fan or even contemplating a 4 stroke .To start with i was 2t all the way .. i love em both 4s 2s i just love bikes in general..
Learnt the basics fixing them from this site here theres not much more to a 4 stroke thumper engine it just takes a little longer to sort back out ,,,waiting on parts i dont have sitting about like i did with ye old dt

any wheels would fit but dtr would look funny as they are only 3.5 at the rear, put bigger tire and it looks like a baloon. get at least 4 inch at the back. there is plenty of wheels on ebay you can get a set for around 200-300 change bearings put some spacers and your ready to go, if you like the cast wheels go for the gpr or aprilia rs wheels, they are 4.0 there is one rs wheel on ebay US import 4.5 inch wheel
yeah the 250 is the same fitment as the 4s so theres a bonus ,, i see what your saying where they could look thin on a big bike.. but it may be ok as the wr's cant take that big a rear anyway without major adjusting i think the biggest i can go is 4.5 an even that need some work to stop the chain rubbing on the tyre...
some more bits to get first now to bloody bikes lol.
my throttle return cables seen better days i need one of them , my tyre's both need changed desperately now and i need a new rear brake disc ohh and my linkage has play in the rear roller
