I never took any lessons and past mod 1 first time mod 2 second, should have passed 1st time but I was speeding :( It's a piece of piss. The slower you go the easier it is. It's a piece of piss.

Is it quite easy then as had a look at the video on there website and doesnt look that hard.i think the hardest thing will be getting used to the weight of the bike.the company ive gone with use the new xj600.also bought a suzuki gs500 the other day.its probably slow and not much too look at but it was cheap and dont want something too quick to learn on if I pass

I passed last week after putting it on the back burner for twenty odd years, can't understand why I never got around to doing it sooner. I suppose fast cars and warm comfy seat to sit in away from the elements is the real reason. Good luck with your test, my DT was a peace of **** on the day and failed to start easily on two occasions so hopefully your bike will be on it's best behavior on the day.

very easy mate if you can ride anyway practice early lifesavers everytime your goin to be going left or right at junctions and changing from left side to the right side of your lane on the road  lifesavers should be done  just before indicating
practice those emergency stops with no skidding too

good luck mate

For mod 1 there is a really good gopro on youtube. Some chavey doing it on a YZF explains everything. I watched it like 10 times. Found an empty car park and did it all.

For mod 2 I watched loads of vloggers and just copied what they did and exaggerated all the moves. Seemed to work for me. It really isn't hard. Slow and steady wins the race.

I am a 27 year old lazy rider and don't have full liscence but I want one.

Is this how it goes...

Theory test.

Mod 1 can be done on DT?

Mod 2 also on DT?

Couple of lessons getting used to the bigger bike.

Practicle test on big bike out on the road.

I think if you do your test on the dt yoir licence will only allow you to ride a 125.alco both tests have to be done on the same power bike

Mod 1 & 2 are your practicle tests. They need to be done on the appropriate machine in order for you to have your license.

Old rules where much better imo, 2 years is more than enough to learn your craft on ready for a bigger bike

Had my first training session the other day.got to say the bigger bikes are alot of fun.the training place use the newer yamaha xj6
Cant believe how quick they are and surprisingly feel alot more stable and easier to balance when going slow.cant wait till the next session

mrs says the same the r6 is smooth as hell the wrf she gets bounced about like a conker , Agree with you there nath 2yrs is plenty experience. most cases have done a prior 2years on the road riding on cbt's

i think an mx bike is an easier balance myself. Iv spent a lot of time waitin at junctions an lights with my feet on the pegs balancing still.. Now i cant do that on the 6

Havent been on for a while so thought I would post a quick update
passed my mod 1 with ease a couple of weeks ago all that worry for nothing only took 10 mins.however failed my mod 2 wednesday.was gutted to say the least but already knew the result before we got back to the test centre.got 1 major and 2 minors.completley agree with the examiner why he had to fail me.was on the slip road coming onto the dual carriageway and there was a lorry in the left hand lane and a few cars.as I merged onto the dual carriage way I pulled in front of the lorry bit for some stupid reason didnt accelerate quickly causing tje lorry to have to brake.dont know why I did it.if id had qound the power on quicker he said I would of passed.have now rebooked for 3rd june so hopefully will pass this time

Its a horrible feeling isnt it . especially when its just the one mistake.my instructor was very surprised I failed aswell as he hasnt really need to teach me anything.its more about just getting used to the bigger bikes.am gonna burn those l plates when I pass

Yeah. The thing i hate is having to tell people. But you'll get there. At least you know its a doddle and that really its about luck of the draw. Think if that lorry weren't there you'd have your license. Sucks I know but thats the way it is.

Which one did you do? A2? Or did you do it before the new laws?
