Will a Hpires fit with the standard rear light?

Hi guys. I want to get a Hpires rear mudguard for my 2003 DTR. Will it fit with the standard rear light unit, as the most common thing is to fit an acerbis or tailtidy with in built light.

its possible but why fit newer looking fender with an oldschool tail light?
