oi! that's mine lol. a project i couldn't see through (frame was written off and scrapped)

cal,its been in the shed for somewhere around 3 years and its got light spots of corrosion.

the plan was to clear coat it....

about 30 hours if i remember right? 

spoke to the guy who supplied the polishing kit and polishes for a living.

he told me the quickest way to achieve the best finish biggrin 

i can recommend paying someone else to polish bike parts though hmm

tbh i would soo have that engine

i blew my dt up ... but i fixed it.... Then i crashed it.... but i didnt fix it right and 2 scouser's come in the middle of the night and left me with a working bike

got her out of the damp ol shed earlier after seeing that pic,see how she's holding up...

not too bad after 3 ish years biggrin 

and far better than the untouched 4fu barrel that's only been in there 18 months bleh

bit of autoglym in a few places to see how quick she'd come back

to be fair,my crosser has a polished subframe and swinger.

only ever used in the wet in a lime pit and they still gleam confuse

now there's an idea...

its only in the shed cos the missus didn't like it in the lounge...

will get round to actually finishing a project one of these days confuse

start a new job monday,which will allow me to finish this

then i'll have space for 4 bikes/work bench/tool rack/office lol

this was the main kit

along with these for a dremel

12 Pcs Polishing Tool 20mmx10mm Cylinder Felt Bobs for Electric Power Drill

clicky (you'll go through loads of these lol)

you can get rubber polishing bobs too which are quite good.

Oakey Paint & Varnish Remover 66261017836

clicky and one of these. 

start with the mounted wheel to clean back to bare metal (can also remove casting ribs/marks quite quickly)

then move on to the mops,from harsh to soft. can recommend buying a crappy drill to use for this,it'll kill the bearings using it to polish hmm

once you have a nice shine its dremel time to get in all the little nooks and cranny's...

biggest recommendation on this though is wearing a face mask/goggles and doing it somewhere you don't mind getting dirty....

i ended up covered in aluminium dust and black dust/grease from the wax lol
