I'll kick things off:

I use to go to these woods quite often when i was younger (early teens). I had a little ty 80 and i use to get my camo rucksack on, put my lunch in there and bits and bobs and go exploring. I live in a wooded area and no-one seemed to mind me riding around, i just made sure i was polite and gave way etc, they always smiled and achknowledged me.

Anyway, i made my way to these woods, because there is a straight going through the woods, in the middle of nowhere really i just told my parents i was sticking to the paths they showed me, quite narrow but you could go quite fast, probably about 40mph.

So i've been hauling through there often, and this day i went to do the same, but the engine died out as i was going down the straight. I checked and realised i needed to put the bike onto reserve. So i put it on reserve, rolled the bike forward to make sure i was in nuetral before i start it up again and had my head looking down at the kick start when i felt something pushing on my peak as i moved forward. So i moved back abit and there, going across the path at neck height, was a thin metal wire. I looked and realised the wire had been tied on to the trees either side of the path. It was very tight when i pushed it with my fingers and it went through my gloves and gave me a small cut.

Now, i think we all know what would have happened if i didn't need to go on reserve. Head off. I' ve never ridden off of my own land again, i was only 13 at the time f****d me up abit, can't believe some of the people out there, sick ba****** to do that to a kid aswell.

I never told my parents. I never told anyone until now thinking about it. I think it would have broken my mums heart knowing how close i was, no doubt they both would have felt guilty bla bla just didn't need the hassle, so i just said i was bored of exploring on my bike now and that was the end of that

F*** me that was lucky!!

And cal atleast i didn't get physically attacked, but that guy just rammed you!! Lucky you weren't hurt

I dont know who set up the wire, they must have been watching me to know how high to put it for my neck though, were probably watching me when i found it, getting all excited to see some kids head taken off... Obviously there was something wrong with them, some lunatic

Dt Danny has to be the weirdest thing I've came across from riding.

Thinking about it I don't think I've had any stuff like that happen to me apart from people nearly taking my Dt of me a few times

Yeah. You haven't seen me off road. I wasn't going terribly fast and lost my balance. Was livid that I dropped my bike but when three pikey gits get out of the land rover you kinda just don't care about tha anymore. Probably the fastest I've ever been off road lmao.

I drop my DT every Sunday doing hills, never do any damage really. I did bend the exhaust a little though trying a rather large log

Also reminds me of a few weeks back when me and a mate doing about 40-50 hit a 3-5 foot wide ditch about 5 foot deep.

The front lip was slightly higher than the back so it was almost invisible untill too close to avoid it(this is probably also why we didn't end up over the bars).

we both cleared it but omg my heart was going, rear wheel felt like it hit a curb bleh

Some kid died a few years ago because of that- wasn't even the land owner just some pranksters who thought it would be fun to tie fishing line across the trees really sad tbh. Can't remember any details though.

Can't think of anything that weird, seen some people dogging ... but then I just joined in.

Giggity.

Bad times.. I can't even begin to imagine what people are thinking when they do such things. With the mass of a moving human at speed even the smallest objects can do major damage.

Vic you were lucky at those speeds mate!! Any slower i reckon it would have kicked you off when your rear hit, you nutter

This wire was so insanely thin i dont know what the hell it was, but he had wrapped it around a bolt head/nail and hammered them in both trees. There was no way you could see it, i reckon if you just walked into it it would go half inch into ya

I managed to snap ot anyway, got a large rock and kept dropping it on the wire until it snapped, otherwise a child could come running through and slit there damn neck open

All i know is some old guy nearby had to go into a home because he was playing up, might have been him...

That's some scary sh*t right there. Probably would've kept me from riding in the woods for a few days...

Sad world we live in if people do that just for the heck of it no     I tell ya, if I ever catch someone putting up wires in the woods, I'll give 'em a "talking" they wont forget for years biggrin

bloody lucky cal .. the wire across a path is not old I know a lad years ago come a cropper that way he still can not talk turns out it was a old person dog walker who was sick of bikes in the woods/fields .

remember when I had my tzr 4dl with no front fairing so if you had one you know the frame that holds the front fairing and screen in place ? well I had that still on and some heavy mirrors that wobbled about or vibrated when riding.. so I put a elasticated bungee cord across then to stop the wobble and worked ok..

till one morning been to a carboot sale and rideing home nice sun and sunday morning doing about 70+ totaly flat out on a long road when the mirror snapped lose and with the bungee cord still in place it dragged the mirror down under the clocks area between the bars etc and locked my stearing in place also jamming the rev cable on full ... **** my self is a under statement... heading right in towards other traffic .

was realy lucky and not sure how but managed to lean stear the bike round the cars down the white lines of middle of road wilst at the same time rideing with one hand and after what seemed like a life time managed to pri the mirror free .

pigeon took off and hit him clean in the face and back flipped him off his bike bleh

the bike carried on till it ran out of steam and jus fell over at 1 mph lol

Don't really have any scary things. I've come off, about three times. Scary at the time, but I just brush it off and get back on the bike if it isn't broken. All you can do.
