Yeah I guess, but its not so much as a want. its kinda a need... I need a bike to commute to work but if im buying a bike, I might as well get the bike I really want. Shame DT's are valued so much! I can add to the £1200 probley £250 every two weeks so im sure my options will open up.... Just the waiting part i hate!
There is a chap on e Bay who is selling is dt far too cheap. It's an absolute minter. If you could domehow get a loan for the extra couple of quid you'd end up with a bike that will not fail you.
If its a bupike you absolutely need then it is well worth paying the extra for a decent condition one.
Its strange how much better a bike you can get around the 1500 mark, a real nice decent one, 1200 seems to be the turning point when the start getting so so ish
I've only been into the whole vehicle thing for a few years but realised that if you want it 'mint' as such then it's best to build it yourself. That way you get to choose how it ends up.
You guessed it! It's a 2003 dt, engine works. Everything is there except indicators seems the guy was off roading it. So need to patch it up. The way I see it there is very little £700 can't fix so long as the engine is good. And I made sure the compresstion was spot on. Ready for a project guys?
I wouldn't even worry about engine mate. Not on these bikes. They are so cheap, easy and quick to rebuild that if the engine fails you could have it rebuilt in a few hours.
Nev once said it to me that you could roll the bike in in the morning, and roll it back out in the evening with the engine rebuilt. Obviously if you know what you're doing, have the parts and the tools.
After doing a few myself I can support this theory. They are easy enough to do when you have the right tools and know how :D Engine seizes mate, again you know where to come, who to ask.
Cheers guys I'm sure your help is going to be needed! I invite you all to follow along and give me your suggestions. If I'm going to do this I'm going to do it right. I'll send a pic of the bike when I get home. Out at the pub right now celebrating my victory
